Review summary

We wanted to be wowed and book again with NCL. However, the food was so tired and disappointing that we did not. Staff needs lessons on customer service. Ship needs to NOT ALLOW deck chairs to be “SAVED” all day every day.

Embarkation

No problem. Easy on. Luggage was delivered quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Food quality was very disappointing compared to other cruise lines that we traveled on. For this reason alone we did not take advantage of on board next cruise specials. Even the “Specialty Restaurant’s” were disappointing. Pool

Onboard Activities

Pool area was over crowded with too few deck chairs not located in direct sun light. Too few deck chairs on the shaded sides of ship. BIG PROBLEM with people monopolizing the lounge chairs by putting towels etc. on multiples of them all day to hold them. Ridiculous! Only cruise ship I have been on where this happened every day. People would put items on them very early in the morning. Go on shore excursions and come back in the afternoon to sit on them. We and others complained. The ship DID NOTHING.

Entertainment

Excellent nighly shows. Best we’ve seen on any cruise ship. Definitely worth watching.

Children's Programs

No kids with us.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Room steward was excellent. But restaurant wait staff was less than ideal. Some were rude! They asked questions but really didn’t want a response. They didn’t listen to what you actually said. One restaurant receptionist was so curt and rude we almost left. The manager apologized and tried to make it up to us.

Garden Cafe had an odd flow for the lines. The toaster cane before the items to toast. So you had to go backwards in line to toast anything. Then you got to the omelets and you had to step out of line and go to the opposite end to start in that line. Made no sense! Would have been nice if there was a juice bar there making breakfast/lunch energy drinks. Was onnother criuse lines and was great. Ran out of bagels or other things. Not refilled promptly. Had to ask.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cleanliness very good. Size was tight. Not much room at foot of the bed. Clothes wardrobe across from the bathroom caused a lot of congestion. Not well laid out. Balcony railing plexiglass was always very dirty.

Ship tip

Consider a different ship with a different chef. See country of origin for the head chef. A more classically trained chef will probably be better.

Just ok. Nothing special.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Great port. Beautiful! Only problem here NOT enough time. Should have been a full day there. Disappointing that we had so little time. Skip Acapulco and stay here for a day and a half. Makes more sense.
