Review summary

Overall a great experience. Committed to take at least two more cruises with Norwegian. Staff was very attentive, shows were entertaining, and the ports were worth seeing. Wished we had more time in several of the ports but got to see highlights in most.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Organized and smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Only ate in main dining rooms but did not eat in specialty restaurants. Food was good but not the most memorable part of the trip. Coffee and soft drinks cost extra with every meal so beware of that in advance other wise passengers may be surprised.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Did not participate in many activities. Used the gym and track on board as well as internet room. Sang karaoke two nights but avoided activities that had additional costs.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Shows were good. Talented singers, dancers, and specialty acts.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was outstanding especially our steward, I Wayan Ary Asa. He was the epitome of superlative customer service!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Impressed with the on-going maintenance (painting, varnishing, etc.)

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
So glad we got a balcony; will only get balcony rooms or suites in the future. Very pleased with that decision.

Ship tip

Notice the sincere commitment to maintaining good health. Going into every meal passengers are given spray hand sanitizer and reminded to "...washy, washy, happy, happy!"

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
Went to Rome 3 days prior to our departure. Love this eternal city.

Mykonos, Greece

5 out of 5
Went on our own exploring this port and after talking with those who took the excursion walking tour offered by the ship, we actually saw more and went to more locations.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

5 out of 5
Went to Acropolis and toured old Athens with excursion we booked on our own. Fantastic being at the Acropolis!

Rhodes, Greece

5 out of 5
Hired a cab and went all over including to a beach for a swim. Driver was very supportive and willing to go where ever we wanted.

Santorini, Greece

5 out of 5
Saw a lot in a limited time. Booked our own excursion through another company.

Souda (Chania), Crete

4 out of 5
Limited time in port and then after we got back on board we stayed an additional 9 hours there due to mechanical difficulties.

Valletta, Malta

4 out of 5
Due to mechanical problems in Crete, we were delayed arriving in Malta until evening. The port was exquisite in the evening lights but because we arrived so late most everything normally open during the day was closed.

Messina, Sicily

5 out of 5
Booked an excursion separate from the ship. It was excellent!

Naples, Italy

5 out of 5
Again, we booked an excursion independently. Picked up at 8:30 a.m. and returned at 5:30 p.m. Went along Amalfi coast, eating lunch overlooking the coast, visited a limoncello factory, and then went to Pompeii. Really enjoyed the day!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We had to hurry to get to the airport so we literally were the first ones off the ship. Received final billing prior to departure and carried our own luggage in order to meet our cab. Easy!
