Review summary

Okay for a cruise, but expected to view glaciers from the ship. Unprepared for the jewelry shopping in Juneau. We do not drink $60 per person alcohol each day, only a beer and wine so wished for other drink packages. We anticipated the cool, rainy weather so were prepared and not bothered by it.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Rather quick and quite organized. I did not feel "herded".

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We loved the specialty dining, Brazilian Steakhouse and Cagney's. However, we also preferred the Indigo and Summer Palace over the buffets. We would have like to have more seafood offerings, afterall this is through Alaska.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed watching the variety shows. But also just being in the forward lounge watching the water while bingo and other activities were going on. Appreciated the jewelry talks

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Enjoyed the ship's crew who sang and danced.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All staff we exceptionally courteous and pleasant, helpful.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
A well used ship

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Small. Small. Small. Take out the useless sofa and put in a simple chair. Need better suitcase areas. No room for 2 suitcases. Not enough outlets to charge phone, camera, etc.

Ship tip

Was disappointed we did not see glaciers from the ship during the cruise as we had expected; we would have chosen a different cruise. Wish I had been prepared for the jewelry in Juneau.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

4 out of 5
Lyft and Uber add up quickly. Hotel shuttle retrieved us from SeaTac, but wish I had known Norwegian had transportation service. We took a Lyft back to our hotel and later into Pike's Market and Uber back to our hotel.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

4 out of 5
Not much to do, took bus into Hoonah and looked around for a few minutes.

Juneau, Alaska

3 out of 5
All about shopping, and we are more about Alaskan's natural sites. We did enjoy Tracy's Crab Shack, although we shared the expensive meal.

Victoria, British Columbia

4 out of 5
Took a bus to a "Hop On, Hop off" bus, which we have enjoyed in many other cities.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We did the "self serve", which was very fast and painless. Off and on the streets before 8 AM!

I'll be glad when this ship gets away from Alaska. Only thing I would do there is seafood and lots of king crab!

Did you not research the ports when you booked? The 7 night from Seattle struggle to reach the glaciers without short port times. A 6 night from Seattle just can't get there. Should have researched it more.
