Kiddie cruise from hell

Sail Date: June 26, 2016

Reviewed: 4 months ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

We spent our time on board stumbling over kids which made up about 30% of the passengers. Paid up for an outside balcony stateroom and every time we tried to enjoy it, we were chased inside do to the noisy family next door. The staff was excellent as is the ship. Food was about average with the buffet being about the same as your local Golden Coral. Thank god for the premium drink package. Our highlight was the helicopter excursion and exploration to a glacier, but rather than take a cruise, we could have flown to Juneau and accomplished that for a lot less money while avoiding the circus. What next, people on board with their pets?

Cabin / Stateroom
clean but small. couldn't use balcony as the family next door were always there and very loud,
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Ship Quality
Destinations and Excursions
helicopter excursion to glacier was our highlight
Onboard Activities
weather was a factor with too much time at sea
Children's Programs
Way too many on board and too many at evening shows
Entertainment
Service and Staff
Food and Dining
Seattle, Washington
Been there, done that. But a must see. Pikes market and the little known "underground" tour.
Juneau, Alaska
If you're a hiker, take the tram up and hike the mountain top trails.
Skagway, Alaska
4 blocks of jewelry and junk shops and you seen and walked the whole town
Cruise Glacier Bay
Ketchikan, Alaska
Bigger than Skagway but more of the same. Raincoat is a must.
Victoria, British Columbia
A beautiful city but not enough time to explore

Tip

I think this trip may have been better if taken the first week in September when all the US kids are back in school, however we had numerous foreign passengers on board with children too.
