Review summary

We enjoyed the excitement  and instructions of the staff at the port and their helpfulness for the inexperienced. The stateroom was larger than we expected since we thought it would be tiny. Although small, it is organized and we did not spend much time there! The performances were great, the "anytime" dining was helpful, the food varied and tasty. Although it rained every day, we were able to see the glaciers and the presentation of the National Park Rangers was great!  We tried to pack too much into our short time on shore and missed the first "load' of passengers for the Best of Juneau excursion which gave us only 20 minutes at the Medenhall Glacier and that is not enough!  our whale watching was GREAT! good captain and guide, friendly, helpful, informative.  the fact that it was the second to the last cruise in Alaska for the year made the prices better at the shops and we were pleased.  I'd go again....if we had the $$!

those we dealt with were helpful, although the art auction is overwhelming!

Ship Quality

couldn't believe how big it really is but we learned the way around, the maps all over are a great help.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
since we were wet every day, it would be nice to have a place to dry the shoes/clothes. the in-room safe is a great deal! the stewart was fast and efficient and filled the ice bucket. no complaints.

Ship tip

smoked salmon is great! pineapple was great too. Norweigion has a contract for these I think! bring clothes pins and magnets to hang wet clothes. the late night snack buffet is so fun !

Ports of call

to me a big city... the light rail takes you around for inexpensive and the Trolley guides are a lot of fun.

Juneau, Alaska

Don't try to do everything.

Skagway, Alaska

we did the train and cycle down the hill. It was great even though it rained and was foggy. on the train sit on the left so you can see the gorge instead of the mountain side!

Cruise Glacier Bay

go to the Park Ranger talk so you know what you are seeing. the captain turned the ship twice so every side could get a view of the glacier

Ketchikan, Alaska

loved it -end of season sales, wish the totem poles were closer and museum for that didn't cost .

Victoria, British Columbia

this was the only disappointment since we got there after 6 pm and it was dark so we couldn't see the gardens/flowers
