Review summary

Norwegian cruise line is the only cruise line I will ever cruise with again, the ship was fantastic and the crew were amazingly friendly even though it was so late in the season. The only draw back was the weather was extremely rainy (again late in the season) and we didn't have enough time in Victoria, BC. Other then that I highly recommend this cruise. Go with the Pearl also the staff genuinely care about the quest.

Everyone told me the cabin would be small, I have stay in conventional hotels that were not this roomy. If you are going to cruise pick level 5 no noise from the engines or pool area and minimal traffic in the halls so quite peaceful.

Ship tip

Tim the comedian is Fantastic give him a shot, the food is great in the Garden Café but go to some of the other restaurants to give yourself a change. The Grand Palace is awesome for atmosphere and a special touch of elegance. Also the Library on 12 is the most quite place to watch the Sun rise.

Although I'm also  fan of NCL, I wouldn't be so quick to rule out Celebrity, HAL or Princess, depending on your price point and taste. Other cruise lines have as much to offer as NCL once you have identified the main elements you want from a ship or cruise. My kid, for example, won't go on a ship that doesn't have a water slide. I, on the other hand, won't go on a ship that doesn't have a bar.

when I went we had our Victoria stop late afternoon evening. I went to Butchart Gardens. The drive there was amazing, getting to see all the neighborhoods! At the gardens it was magic, as night fell and lights came on it became even more beautiful. It was a perfect way to spend a short stop in Victoria.
