Review summary

Overall it's a 3.5 like most reviews. All ships have pros and cons. The food is great, the rooms are nice but there is no soundproofing. The ports are great but not enough time to explore. The entertainment was ok, but typically with long lines unless you are a haven guest. Ita becoming like Disney where you have to pay a lot to skip the lines. But there is a good variety of entertainment. The staff always make the trip great.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was great especially because we had priority pass, there was no line. However NYC is a very congested cruise port so the wait to baggage drop-off is 30 mins.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Most restaurants were good. Main dining rooms did not disappoint nor did the specialty. I would love to see more variety of vegetables, fruit juice bar or some healthier choices. Room service meals weren't that great and the need a stronger selection. The coffee was also terrible, thank goodness for Starbucks. They should allow for a coffee machine with pods to make your own.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Most activities were crowded with long lines. Entertainment was ok but could have different shows. The race track takes 20-30 mins for a 5-8 minute ride and was overrated. There is a lot to do but get there early as space is limited.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
No really good DJ, clubs were watered down to group dancing and were so tight. The need a space for a dedicated night club on all ships.

Children's Programs

Didn't bring kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff are so friendly and attentive, but are tired and rushed, and overworked.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship design was great overall pretty clean, public bathrooms were not very clean but common spaces were. The kept hallways, stairs and facilities clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Although a good value overall, ample closet space, nice balcony space and privacy. Do not pick this room if you want quiet. It sits on top of the Cavern night club and Karoke. Needless to say we were entertained but its horrible of you want to sleep or nap. The room could have been cleaned better but there is no time for staff to thoroughly clean. Bed was ok, it was a twin converted and the bed would come apart. Bathrooms a nice size. Products smelled great but would have loved a separate conditioner.

Ship tip

1st day sign up for everything or get a haven suite, without it there are long lines and chaos. Bookas muchas you can prior to the cruise.

Ports of call

New York, New York

2 out of 5
It is so congested, poor traffic flow, no designated lanes for drop off, chaotic.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

2 out of 5
We got to port 3pm most outside excursions closed at 5 and it was pouring on top of it. This port was rushed.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

3 out of 5
We did an excursions but our tickets had one location but it was in the total opposite direction. The port area was nice. Excursion was good but also rusdue to time at port.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Much better port system, streamlined but no shade. Again not enough time at the port to do an excursion + spend time shopping at port.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

4 out of 5
Easy port, nice view but definitely enough time got in at 7 left at 2.ww did Virgin Baths the setup was great because they gathered everyone on the ship in the theater and walked us to our ferry transfer. Very organized!

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

4 out of 5
The port again is beautiful. Tons to do but not enough time. We had to be on the ship by 2:30 it's disappointing because the excursions are so far away most time is spent on a bumpy bus ride doe 45 mins to an hour with only 2 hours to do the excursions. If you are not there a full day like 9 to 6 stay at port.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Leaving the boat takes forever. Elevators can't manage the capacity. The port was awful. They made people cross a busy street to get picked up there were hundreds people standing in the sun on tight street corner waiting for limo transfer and rides.

Sorry that was your experience. I was on that sailing and had a blast. No “mayhem”

I definitely feel you with no enough time at the ports. Tortola was too quick to really enjoy anything.

Every time I cruise on Norwegian we request a coffee maker for our cabin from the room steward on the first day. They keep it supplied with coffee, creamer and cups.
