Review summary

Cruise itself was great. Some of the ports are scary and or dirty. Reservation system was a complete failure for us along with the use of their NCL app.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Embarkation started with an organized method by calling groups but after getting to group D an announcement for all groups. It developed into a free for all.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food seemed to have a common problem with food being served semi warm. Also, there is an long lag between courses. Our meals in Taste, Savor, and Manhattan usually took close to two hours to complete.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Something going on each day

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Outstanding Elements and Footloose show we’re great. Three comedians and one host was good. The Quincy host was just not funny.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room Steward was great.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Ship is maintained well. We had a problem with cleanliness. Two decks up someone drank too much let it go on the outside of the balcony. It was all over our balcony inside and out. I reported it twice before action was taken to clean it up but after the crew made an effort to clean it up there was still signs of the mess on the outside of the glass. Asked to have it cleaned again but no action was taken so we had to see it the rest of the trip.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Pure enjoyment of this cabin

Ship tip

Do not rely on theNCL app. It is not very useful. Many cliches. Make early reservations to shows and meals.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Disembarkation was a disaster. Part of it was the fault of US Customs. It took 2 1/2 hours to get through customs. Apparently the bus company was not informed. We had booked shuttle to Ft. Lauderdale and had to spend another 1 1/2 waiting for the bus which made it tight for some flights. There was no management of were passengers should be and when someone finally showed up the lady was rude and should not be allowed to have such a position. Her handling the problem cause a lot of anger among those involved.

Curious if you used the chat feature in the app at all? I'm wondering how well that works as we will be relying on it for communication with our kids while on the ship.
