Review summary

This is a ship with lots of options for all ages. We found the staff to be very acomodating and the ship, being so new, is in tip top shape. We had a very enjoyable week, and look forward to sailing on the Norwegian Joy again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All of the venues had excellent food. Table service in the Buffet was lacking.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The general game shows were great. Because of age we did not participate in some of the more exotic activities.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Production shows were very good - the magician on board was the best we have seen.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
We felt that we could have given five stars for this except we felt that the table service in the Buffet needed improving. The Staff was courteous, but there is something wrong with the organization of the workers.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We took this cruise strictly because we wanted to experience the Joy. We were not disappointed - the Ship met and exceeded our rather high expectations.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Closets are too small, but the cleanliness and the general configuration were fine.

Ship tip

Come prepared to have fun. Determine ahead of time the things you want to do and make appropriate reservations.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

4 out of 5
Seattle is a fun city - but not much time pre and post cruise to do much..

Ketchikan, Alaska

4 out of 5
We really like Ketchikan - we have been there several times and it has lost some luster for us.

Juneau, Alaska

3 out of 5
the ship was in port too short a time.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

3 out of 5
We think that the time alloted for this experience was far to short. We think that the Dawes Glacier is not nearly as exciting as some of the other Glaciers we have seen on previous Alaska Cruises.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

4 out of 5
You definitly need to take some of the excursions offered. Not much to do in the area on your own.

Victoria, British Columbia

4 out of 5
A great place to visit - especially for first time cruisers.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth, fast, and efficient.
