We had a great trip, however we were put in stateroom #11110 which is the farthest from the elevator, my husband and I are both disabled and handicapped, we needed a room very close to the elevator. The travel agent told us we were right next to the elev

Review summary

We had a wonderful time on the cruise, like I had already said, we were not happy about the fact that the travel agent told us we were right near the elevators, we were not and so therefore we had to do a great deal of walking and between my husband's bad back and knees and arthritis, and my very bad back, the walking back and forth all the way to room 11110 was not helping the matter. Someone needs to tell the travel agents to look at the map and make sure that they are getting elderly and disabled people closer to the elevators. Thank you for giving us a fantastic vacation, next time, give us a stateroom closer to the elevators.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All of the dining was fantastic, We loved the Ocean Blue, Cagney's, and Teppayakians, and we loved the food at the Bar and Grill! The main dining room was very nice and clean and the food was great.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We went to all of the shows that were offered, We do not gamble, so that did not interest us. The entertainment in the Atrium was wonderful and relaxing.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were awesome, we loved them. We loved seeing the Beetles , however when they were in the small bar on I think Thursday night, there were not enough chairs, and it was standing room only and the tall people all went to the front so we could not see.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the service people, the waiters, and especially our room steward were wonderful, friendly, informative, and saw to all of our needs. They all had wonderful smiles on all the time and they all worked so very hard.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It took my husband and I a day or so to get used to where everything was, and the maps on the walls by the elevators were a very big help. The common areas were very clean and very well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was just my husband and I , so we did have enough room, the bed was very comfortable, and our room steward did an excellent job keeping our cabin clean, even when I got sick on Thursday night and I made a mess, our room steward was very nice about it, we apologized to him and he said "no worries"

Ship tip

Prepare for any kind of weather! We had lots of rain in Alaska and it was cold. I was prepared because my family told me about the weather extreems. Also, be ready for long lines for the elevators, and tell the people to get to the shows early or else they won't get a seat. We had to sit in the last row because we did not plan for enough time for the Elements show.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

It was fine for what we needed, we needed a ride to the airport but we did not want to wait for 6 hours for the plane.

Ketchikan, Alaska

Very beautiful, but rainy and very cold. The tour we went on was great and we had a very good time.

Juneau, Alaska

NOT ENOUGH TIME IN JUNO, We only had time to go on our tour of the Glaciers and Salmon bake, but no time to visit the town. It was also very rainy there and very cold.

SCENIC GLACIER CRUISING

5 out of 5
The Glacier's were absolutely the most beautiful think I have ever seen, and I am from Denver, Colorado, the state of the Rocky Mountains! We took tons of pictures and we loved all of it.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Very beautiful, a small but quaint town that has lots of history to it. The weather was beautiful there and we only needed our jackets, no rain gear. We loved all of the historic information that the tour guide gave us about Skagway.

Victoria, British Columbia

5 out of 5
As beautiful as I remember seeing it in 1972 and 1974. I love British Colombia, Victoria. I stayed in the Emperess Hotel in 1972 and when I saw the Hotel again, it really brought back such fond memories.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was excellent, we had lots of help getting off the ship and gathering our things. Our luggage did not get lost and the tour bus was right there waiting for us. We love Seattle, Wa. We have been many times and we always love to see it again.

We always go to the website and look at the deck maps before booking so we have a good idea of where we want to be ahead of time. We leave the deck plans up on the computer when we call to make our reservations so we can double check the location of elevators and public spaces before accepting the cabin recommendation of the NCL booking person.
