I wouldn't suggest sailing on the Jewel. We have sailed on the Pearl a few years ago and loved it.

Particularly like the layout of the upcharge spa. On the new larger ships like the Breakaway, etc. common guests do not even have access to a dressing room without paying the extra fee for the spa. The Jewel series all have a really nice option. Of course, they are all being moved overseas.

Loved the Garden Café for breakfast. Go to all the evening entertainment in the Theater.

We found it better to have breakfast on the Aft deck, level 12. Although it did not have the large variety as the Garden Café did, it still had a good selection and wonderful wait staff. The Moderno (Brazilian Steak House) was excellent. It is a specialty restaurant but well worth the expense.

To avoid the breakfast buffet crowd try O'Sheehans, the Cadillac margaritas and strawberry smoothies are great, and don't miss the bridge viewing room on deck 11.

See entertainment. It was very good. Food was good but not as good as carnival where we normally cruise. Entertainment was better than Carnival though.

Norwegian ON ship APT was useless.

At night the ship was empty. This cruise had mostly elderly so that could be the reason. The crew party was right above our cabin which was very loud and obnoxious. I had to call 8 times to ask them to turn down the music.

The food at the Garden Cafe was great. The main dinning rooms were nice, however, the food was served cold at times and service was very average. The programs were very nice and entertaining.

Do the easy walk-off for disembarking. We left the boat at 8 am and were at home in LA by 9 am. Fabulous.

Don't plan on good shows. Only a couple of nights good. Main dining room food awful. Buffet excellent. Special dining pretty good

Dining rooms were lovely with excellent food and service. We quickly figured out that these complimentary dining rooms provided a much better atmosphere and enjoyment than the buffet.

There was a guitar player at night in the Martini bar that drew standing room only crowds. Get there early if you like to listen to various artist renditions from a one man band. I David Nester is on the ship go see his shows he is a great act. The drink package is great, not all bars make the same
