Don't fight the crowds in the cafe just go to the complimentary dining room for each of your meals. Jeans and shirt are welcome!

Learn you way around the ship early on. The fish in the hallways "swim" upstream (aft to forward) and the rugs near the stairways are color coded (aft, mid, forward). I never could tell starboard from port, but if you can remember and know which section of the ship you are in you won't get lost.

Could never find a table at the Cafe always had to go to the back to La Cocina! That was walk each time you wanted to get more food and something to drink. People would occupy big tables when there were only 2 seating at a big table. No common courtesy. I thought.

For example: The 2 person musical duo "Cover Story" was very entertaining. The female vocalist was very good; the male musician played both piano and guitar. They did popular songs. Our 4 year old granddaughter danced to every number, to the amusement of the audience.

They need to hire more bartenders/bar waiters. No matter we you sat - at a bar or in a bar area - you waited at least 15 minutes or more to ORDER a drink then you had to WAIT for it!!!!!! Sea days you can forget trying to find a place to sit in the Garden Café, people sit and chat all day.....

To Alaska needed to get room with balcony. You will see amazing nature and breathing ocean air all the time and will not miss anything. Do not buy shore excursions on a ship, overpriced. Eat in restaurants at least main dining at evening

Not a lot of seating in the buffet areas. I guess it just seems like more people are there. Eat in the dining room to avoid the animals in the buffet lines.

We loved the many lounges that had entertainment of various kinds, music, fruit/flower carving, animal towel folding.

Wake up early to avoid the breakfast/gym rush on port days. The breakfast crowd on those mornings was HUGE! Hard to find a spot. On sea days, no rush at all until around 9-10 am.

Make sure you go to Le Bistro by far the best food on the ship! Free style cruising was new to us, however we really liked it. We did not like the fact that the comedienne David Naster used the last quarter of his act to push his books etc. We wanted to laugh not listen to his sales pitch.

Freestyle cruise is what they called it: no need to be assigned a dining time or place. There were many places to dine (about 8 included with the fare) and that was plenty. Great food and classy service.

Casino was fun to play... paid well. Shops were outstanding and we saved money on perfume. Got book signed by author of Alaska. Oustanding service from all we encountered. Loved the food and did not go to the sur charged resturants. Gret variety of what was served in the buffet; Tzar; and Atrium

There is nothing nicer than to be in a starboard east facing balcony stateroom and let the Alaskan dawn gently awaken you. Even though the Garden cafe buffets were exceptional, it tended to be crowded but sit down breakfast and lunch were always available and not crowded at Tsar's
