Review summary

The itinerary was fantastic. The quality of the food and bar staff on the ship was below par. We have done more than 100 days cruising with various cruise lines and will not cruise with Norwegian again.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Three ships embarked in the same area which was very busy and confusing. The lines were extremely long at every point because all three ships used the same X-rays, and customs lines.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
My husband and I lost weigh on the ship because the food in the buffet was so bad. The main dining room was the best bet for food for us but we had significant issues there as well.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Dance lessons were fun and free. Stretch classes were nice but I had to find an instructor for one because 20 people came to the class and no instructor showed up. After seeking out one, he came 15 min after the class was supposed to start.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The comedian was great. We liked one musician for his fun personality. The other bands were not very good.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our room steward was excellent. The waiters were best in the dining room. The bar staff was overwhelmed and understaffed.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was in fantastic shape and the layout was nice.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The bathroom was larger than many ships. There was a lot of storage space. The room was smaller than most and lacked another seating area which most have other than the bed. It was spotless and in good repair.

Beautiful city but we only went from airport to port.

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

Gorgeous scenery. Bring binoculars to spot wildlife.

Ketchikan, Alaska

We went zip lining. Great port, great people, fun excursion.

Juneau, Alaska

We did the Whale watching and Glacier again. Weather was beautiful people were friendly. We saw more whales and glaciers on the jewel than on our excursion.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Darling town with lots of free museums and trails. We also took a bus tour (train was fully booked) into Yukon. It had spectacular views, a great guide and we saw bears and a moose!

Cruise Glacier Bay

5 out of 5
This was the highlight of the trip for me. They had a park rangers come aboard and lecture, look for wildlife and answer questions. The views were spectacular, the wildlife abundant and total wilderness as far as the eye could see. It was incredible!!!

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

4 out of 5
I had seen it before. Its beautiful and massive and calved a lot while we were there.

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska

4 out of 5
We disembarked here but immediately boarded a bus to Anchorage so we didn't explore. Looked very cute while driving through.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Much better than embarkation.
