I chose this cruise because ship was going to ports I wanted to visit and dates that worked for my schedule. I was very satisfied with itinerary and the restaurants.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
regular dining room menus were varied and good. Nobody knows how to make scrambled eggs, though. Always gooey and wet.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Very surprised that Super Bowl on departure date was shown on lounge tvs only and not theater. I'm sure plan was to locate right next to bars, but probably guests had bigger tvs at home! Ship need more diverse activities for people who don't gamble or play bingo. lectures on world cultures, bucket list locations, climate change, biology, astrology, etc. Was on a long Celebrity cruise that offered these talks by a very interesting speaker who made you want to hear more.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
All acts were good, with the exception of Dan Bennett, who was so bad, I wanted to run screaming out of the theater. All he did was pace, sweat, and grab at his ill-fitting pants. Jokes and juggling were barely covered. Best was Chris Bennett, who was an excellent comedienne and did a great violin show with her daughter. Enjoyed both shows.
Children's Programs

Service and Staff
3 out of 5
staff was always helpful. Room steward was friendly, but did basic cleanup in room. When a substitute steward did room on last sea day, there was quite a difference, Got impression that assigned steward knew we were on prepaid gratuities plan, so he'd be getting tipped whatever he did. Cruise Director Iain B. was born for this job - always gives 100%.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Needs technology update. Can't see account on tv in your room - have to go to Guest Services to get a printout. And high rates for wifi are annoying. I know it's a moneymaker for the cruise lines, but it's 2017. Wifi should be free! It was free in every public park in Nicaragua - what gives, NCL?
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Needs to be updated - tv needs to be bigger, more outlets. Otherwise, ok for 2 guests.
Ship tip
Had breakfast many mornings at Topsiders. Not a lot of choices, but no crowds and views were great.
Hard to watch from bow - crowds formed early. But views from side were good, and watching ship in next lane showed all of the locks, trains and activity that was happening to our ship as well.
