Review summary
I would give the overall rating an "ok" instead of a good or poor. The best part was meeting and watching all the different peoples. The food in the buffet was great. We had a mini-mid ship balcony which definitely helped at a good value and location. Fresh air! The entertainment was good but we were selective about which
we attended. The crew were well organized and the staff friendly. Great!
I will also say that this is an aging ship and not what we would call a 'high end' cruise but that's not necessarily bad. The complimentary dining areas were both good and not so good. The two main semi-formal dining areas lacked the food quality. The service there was friendly but rushed. Good opportunity to dress up though. The wife looked forward to that!
Had difficulty understanding the Cruise Activity Director. Very nice but kind of new in that position? His accent was pronounced. To us anyway.
Yes, an underlying cruise objective is about getting your money. Shopping, deals, casino, drinks, etc. etc. are standard fare for cruises but one does not have to 'take the bait'. You may not see it that way of course. There is great value and great Mexican locations to visit as well! Your choices!
We are "cruised out" for awhile now. Continue to enjoy cruising if you are not.
Happy cruising!

Ship tip
Do your research prior to purchasing your cruise. Don't expect an stateroom upgrade once you are on board. Set your mind on having a great cruise and you will!
