Overall, the cruise was worthwhile. We got to visit a lot of places in a short period of time. Our excursions were good for the most part. Ibrahim, was our guide in Turkey for Ephesus, etc. He was great and very knowledgeable. As I mentioned previously, behavior of some of the passengers pre excursion needs be addressed. Having people push and shove does not make for a pleasant experience and it is not how I want o spend a vacation. NCL really needs to manage this area better. If not, they will loose other customers. I commend the executive chief and the all the other food prep staff for the quality and presentation of the food on this cruise! Great job.

awful. total chaos. having signs inside the boarding hall would have made things so much more pleasant. .

Food and Dining

food was generally very good. The only exception was when we were docked in a port. Then the selections were much more basic and limited choice. For the most part, though, food selections were varied, imaginative and very tasty. Much better selection of desserts than on other cruise ships!
Onboard Activities

Very good lectures with Trace Farley. Used gym quite a bit. It was well-equipped and spacious. One big negative was the level of Internet service. We have been on other cruise lines where Internet connection was rally good even when out in the most remote reaches of the planet. Not so with Norwegian. Using Internet Explorer as a browser could be the reason. Norwegial should be ashamed for charging people for that!

Service and Staff

Most of staff (not all) were friendly and helpful.
what detracted from this port was negative experience with excursion . Much of fault lies with local authorities who seem to let chaos prevail at Church of the Holy Sepulchre, etc. Huge crowds and new crowd control. Witessed a lot of shoving and rude behavior. Witnessed a near fist fit between two tourists who'd bumped into each other. Also, as far as NCL, they really need to address the uncivilized behavior of some of the large numbers of Chinese passengers who were on the Jade. There was a significant problem with some individuals who were absolutely determined to be first on the excursion buses. They would push en masse to front of lines in the Stardust theater, the meeting area for the excursions. There also was a significant safety problem with passengers who stood blocking the doorway of the stardust and who refused to sit down while waiting for their excursion to be called. The two or three employees assigned to the excursion staging were overwhelmed by the numbers of rude, uncooperative passengers. This was true in most of the excursions (we did four)
port itself is not attractive, but we had a good excursion to Luxor, Valley of the Kings Have the same criticism, though, of behavior in the Stardust of some of the passengers (particularly the Chinese, who don't seem to have a notion of extending courtesy to anyone outside their immediate group). I communicated this to the cruise director.
We ended our cruise there and ended up staying in Dubai five days. Nice city with great infrastructure. Great metro system. Dubai definitely wants people to visit (unlike some of the other emirates that the Jade docked at).
