Review summary

We got a great price for the cruise. This allowed us to book a Suite for the 1st time. We haven't cruized since Feb 2020. A big plus. I caught Covid on the cruise. A big negative. Many people were coughing heavily by the end of 10 day cruise. Most who are coughing are not wearing masks.

Embarkation

About as efficient as you could expect. Drop off at the Port was very slow but that is Post issue not a Norweign issue.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The free dining areas were fine. The staff was great. The policy of limiting the number of 2 person tables in the formal dining areas and then making you wait if you wanted a 2 person dining table was very unfriendly. They had many empty 4 person tables not being used. Four person tables were simply 2 2 person tables shoved together. Why they try to force you to share a 4 person table with strangers is beyond me. A big negative. They continue to restrict the availability of clean water stations to the 15th floor. No provision is being made for easy refill of your water containers for use thru out the ship. This continues to be an unfriendly action from the cruise company towards its customers health and hydration. There is no logical explanation for it.

Onboard Activities

The trivia shows were especially entertaining. The BINGO costs a fortune now. $49 for the cheapest card. They did not get any money from us. We used to like playing BINGO on the Boat. No any more.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
It was a 10 night cruise and they repeated three times the same show two nights in row. This meant only 7 nights of unique entertainment shows in the Theater. For some of the shows, they also required you to have a reservation, even thou there were plenty of seats available. If you foolishly showed up 1/2 hour early to get a good seat buy did not have a reservation, you had to stand in the "stand by" line until the show was about to start and then they let you sit in one of the less desirable seats. They also put the show on your stateroom bill with a $0 charge. Looks like they are planning on charging for these shows in the future. Two of the shows, Beat the Floor and the Million Dollar Quartet were very entertaining.

Service and Staff

The staff was pretty good. Very friendly. Eager to help. All good.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

When I booked they called it a Suite. After I booked they now call it a Mini-Suite which is not eligible for the bonus nights added to the Latitudes points.

Ship tip

If you dislike breathing in other people's cigarette smoke, stay far away from the Casino on the 7th floor. They allow smoking there and do not exhaust the smoke out of the boat. It circulates outside the casino and even gets to the 6th and 8th floors via the open area around central chandelier hanging down thru multiple floors..
