We were in a Haven suite which was outstanding. The excursions were crowded and the food in the rest of the ship underwhelming to poor.

Review summary

The Haven was amazing. The staff made EVERY aspect of the cruise more enjoyable and stress free. So I think we would have had a different experience if we were in not in a suite.

We were mainly in the Haven, and the every aspect of the service was excellent. The restaurant staff actually seemed like they liked being there and the front desk was amazingly efficient. The entire Haven staff were “Rock Stars” However, when I misplaced my glasses and went down to the main guest service desk, they acted as if I was wasting their time.

WOW! It exceeded our expectations. The only negative comment was that every once in a while when we would get back to the cabin, there was the hint of a foul smell.

Ship tip

Try the Wasabis restaurant if you like sushi. And go with small or private excursions. The large ones were underwhelming and disappointing.

Haven is amazing!! The food there is phenomenal. A little tip on Haven.... you get priority embarkation. So dont stand in the long line next time! 😉

Definitely don’t need to stay in a suite to have a good time. Food was really good. Buffet was outstanding (excellent selection and good quality).

And let me add, that you don’t need to stay in a suite for a great experience. I only book inside cabins to allow us to cruise when we want on a retirement budget. And we have a fabulous time.

I don’t know what your past cruise experiences have been like, but I was quite surprised to read your comments about the food on the Getaway. I sailed that ship twice, even convincing family to join us on one of those times, because we felt the food was OUTSTANDING! And the buffet was the BEST we have ever had at sea. We are experienced cruisers with 4 different cruiselines under our belt, so I do say that after having food on other lines. Their buffet was AMAZING and HUGE!! So much variety! And never a line, as noted on other cruise lines.
