Review summary

The Getaway was a beautiful ship,but there was a lot we didn't like about it. In the main dining rooms Taste and Savor the food was so bad we couldn't keep going there. It seems like the food is so bad they want you to go to the restaurants you have to pay extra for and you shouldn't have to pay for your meals on a cruise.

We don't like having to reserve a seat for all the shows, that is just crazy!! We will not be going on the Getaway or Norwegian again ,they're other cruise lines that are way better!

The bed was comfortable but it was six inches from the closet and very hard to get in and out of bed it was to tight a space. Very bad design. Balcony was way to small!!

Just home after 12 Days on the Getaway, we have been on many Cruise ' on NCL this was just the very best so far we dined in Savour and the Speciality Restaurant's and enjoyed all. Best Staff of any Ship we have traveled on to date, already looking up possible Cruises for next year on NCL

Its like any other vacation, IT IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT! No one truly ruins it but yourself if you don't say ok.... Let's try something else & make the best of it.

the food in the buffet was excellent used it all the time never used any of the dining rooms did go to Osheehan's for the ribs and agree with the above excellent .

Cruised on the Getaway in Sept. and had no issues with the menus or staff. To condemn a cruiseline because of expectations or preferences weighs no merit.

We really liked the food in Taste especially the Lasagna al Forno . We also thought the service was better and faster than in Le Bistro and Cagney's. It comes down to individual taste and expectations.

While I am sure the main dining rooms on the Getaway aren't the absolute best out there, I think calling the food so bad you couldn't go back is quite a stretch... I was on the Getaway last month... If you found that food "bad", I would suggest you only cruise on WAY more expensive lines such as Seabourn. We found items on the menu that were excellent, some that were good, and some just OK... Nothing outright bad. These kind of "over the top" reviews, both good and bad, are a waste of time both to read, and write.

They have you reserve a seat so it doesn't overcrowd. Also, there are other dining options that are free that you could go to, such as Flamingo Bar/Grill, Garden Café, and many more.
