Review summary
My husband and I had a great time on the new Gataway, the Norwegian's newest ship. The ship was beautiful. We had a balcony, mini-suite and it was very clean and maintained very well during our stay. We highly recommend getting a balcony if it can fit in your budget. We enjoyed many moments watching the sunset and just relaxing in the frest air in the privacy of our room. We enjoyed the freestyle dining and not having an assigned seating. This gave us a lot of flexibility in planning events that we wanted to enjoy. The food was good but we did not find it exceptional. We did find the staff to be very friendly and always willing to talk to us and attend to our needs. We enjoyed being on the ship so much that we did not get off of the ship in St. Thomas or the Bahamas. We've been to all of the islands so we decided to enjoy the ship while the others were off sightseeing. We've previously taken the Rotterdam (Holland American line) and a Carnival cruise. We normally use our Marriott timeshares for our travel needs so taking a cruise was not our normal way to vacation. I would take another cruise on this ship again. I would pack less and use the laundry facilities if need be rather than overpacking!

Ship tip
You have options for eating. There is a Cafe which is very large and the serve food all day long. It is where most people with children ate but we ate there often as well. There are several other restaurants for a sit down breakfast, lunch or dinner and there are specialty restaurants.
