Review summary

Overall, very happy with the ports of call, the staff and the ship. Nothing will ever be perfect, but the 2 weeks we were aboard the Gem, we wanted for nothing and received the best treatment. Very respectful crew and fellow passengers.

Get to the pier early!! We were on board drinking while others were complaining about waiting in line in the terminal.

Whether the buffet or specialty dining, the food was good. The buffet had a vast selection and had several themed nights. Like any buffet, it can be hit or miss. Several complimentary sit down restaurants available and specialty restaurants were great

We did a self guided tour. Started at the castle, walked thru old San Juan to Umbrella Street, very friendly and fun.

Did the trolly train ride. It was ok for what it was, drove around downtown, stopped at a church for 5 minutes. Was dropped off at a beach for 30 minutes, then back to the port.

The dolphin experience was fun, but photos were WAY overpriced. One photo of my fiance the dolphin and myself, they wanted 70 dollars. Clean port and excursion people were friendly. Will definitely go back to the port
