Review summary

I wouldn't suggest if you are going first time. Room service and food was great, water slide was broken and never fixed for all 10days. While we traveled so much waves, so my younger one and wife felt see sickness half of trip. Virgin island and st Marin was a great place to visit. Inside ship programs were great except worst comedy show, during our trip was few days were raining and we were forced to stay in room. They played same programs all 10days in TV, was terrible that we couldn't go to water pool. Hot tub was the only option, only two small tub can hold 7 people max! Finally we made it, my wife said no more curise!!! I'm happy.

i always said the only ones who could walk straight were the ones who were a bit tipsy when it was rough!

I have to say, one of my most memorable cruise days was high seas. They had to cancel shows for the safety of the performance. Watching people walk was a bit of a comedy show. lots of people were sick. However, people were looking out for each other, sharing the experience. The ocean is a beautiful powerful force. I love the sea, that is why I cruise.

I think he was trying to say "PRISON for 10 days"

Cruising is not for everybody.... starting with a 10 day cruise out of NY in winter is like learning to drive,  with your first time behind the wheel in  a Yugo on the autobahn.

Now I'm no NCL fan,   but if I ever get convicted of a crime,   I would take being sentenced to being on NCL ship with bad TV programming and no use of the pool for 3 days. (I do like all the free movies on Demand that Celebrity has in the cabins on nice 32" flat screen TVs)

we went out in February from nyc and it was rough, and i do mean rough. then left out of Baltimore in oct during hurricane jouquin and it too was rough. so i cant understand why people complain about it being bad weather, that's nothing you can control. just ride it out and think of where you are headed.

I have been on 4 cruises.  I have never turned on the television. Also for the life of me, how you rate a cruise ship bad because of the weather is bad is a real head scratcher.

cant understand why ncl doesnt have better tv shows. same thing over and over. and if you are sailing out of nyc year round they need covered pools like carnival has.

I'll echo previously stated sentiments regarding...

- length (of your first cruise)

- cruising with children (on your first cruise)

- departing NYC in November (on your first cruise)

None of these seem particularly well thought out. If you were working with a cruise planner or travel professional, shame on them for not giving better guidance.  This is all water under the bridge so best to take the lessons learned and move along.

Weather is not something any cruise line can control for... that is a risk for any vacation, not just cruising.

I don't think TV programming is a priority for any cruise line. If you are looking for a wide variety of television shows with all the channels you like, consider a staycation at home.  Even hotels in the most populated cities have limited channel options. Cruise TV is pre-programmed/recorded and/or satellite so it is what it is.

It may be that cruising is just not for you but you might consider giving it another try without the kids, on a different cruise line, from a different port.

PS: please splain "persion" as I do not understand that either.  Did you mean "prison" perhaps?  If so, that's overstating it a bit, hmmmm?

Wow, a ten day cruise with young children for your first cruise... from New York in NOVEMBER....One question? What were you thinking????

Now put this cruise aside and forget about it. Next cruise with kids.

follow these steps

1 Call your travel agent.

2 Book a shorter Disney Cruise.

3 Tailor the activities on board to what the kids want.

4 Buy your wife something nice.

Have fun  on a really good cruise.

OK, I give up. I have "googled" the word Persion with no luck. It's a new one on me. I cannot even work out what it should say so I would be grateful for any interpretation.

First off, I would never recommend a 10 day cruise to a first time cruiser. I would suggest 7 day cruise or less to see if cruising is for you. As for the water slide, if the crew felt it was unsafe to operate, yes they will shut it down and there is also the possibility that a needed part couldn't be obtained until they returned to the home port (New York). Sorry you thought it was "terrible" that you couldn't use the pool for 3 days but NCL has no control of the weather. If you feel that the MINOR inconveniences you experienced ruined your 10 day cruise, please see the first sentence of this reply.
