A Mediterranean Cruise to Remember

Sail Date: October 21, 2007

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

This was the most awesome cruise I ever was on. To be able to see so much and do so much in 7 days was incredible. The ship was brand new (only 19 days old) and I was impressed with the crew who did everything to please you. Any concerns were addressed immediately and quickly rectified. The Freestyle dining is the best but reservations are needed. There was such a great variety of activities onboard that one would never be bored.

Pros: The ports of call

Cons: The long flight from USA to Spain

Recommends Norwegian Gem? Yes!

Messina, Sicily
Mt. Etna was cold and snowy. One must be prepared to dress warmly for this tour.
Naples, Italy
We did the ship tour entitled "Flavors of Sorrento & Pompeii". The farm we visited overlooking Sorrento was a disappointment as we ate here on a cold, rainy day. The food was not appetizing and the atmosphere was dismal.
Don't Miss: The ruins of Pompeii.
Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy
We needed more time in Pisa and less time in Florence. There was way too much walking on the tour in Florence and not enough time to explore on your own.
Don't Miss: The Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy
We took a private escorted tour of Rome which was awesome as we were able to plan our own itinerary and see everything that interested us.
Don't Miss: The Colosseum
Villefranche-Sur-Mer, France
This was the highlight of our trip. The views were breath taking and the tour pace was perfect.
Don't Miss: Monte Carlo
