Beds and pillows uncomfortable but overall great cruise

After cruising once on the Norwegian Breakaway to the Bahamas, I felt this cruise was even further beyond my expectations in food, entertainment, and port itinerary. Will definitely make my way to a new destination, on another Norwegian experience, a few years from now to see what improvements have been made, since it is evident they are always working to make it your best vacation yet. Though the ships are only getting bigger, with more passengers to accommodate for, I still feel like a priority in my needs (especially with my gluten-free diet) and never feel like I have a stupid question to ask. Hopefully, the process of boarding and disembarking will get better over the years, as this is truly the only complaint I have with the process.

Overall great vacation. The port in NYC makes it very easy to embark and disembark. Bermuda is a wonderful port and having 3 days there is great!!

We had traveled on the Breakaway twice, so we were pleasantly surprised the Escape was similar. It seemed like home. We had the specialty dining package, but no matter where we ate, the food was outstanding. And your crew members certainly know how to treat people. Absolutely no complaints from us!

Overall had a great time. Food and drinks were very good. Bermuda was beautiful. My only complaint was disembarkation, they make a big deal of getting a colored luggage tag based on what time you want to disembark, when it came time to disembark it was first come first serve. Didn’t matter what color tag you had. This was about our only complaint.

I have cruised 3 other NCL ships and never had these problems.

This is a HUGE ship--about double the size of the mid-sized ships we prefer. The balcony cabins were okay, but smaller and quite spartan compared with many of other ships we've sailed on (the balconies were small too). There were NO drawers in the cabins or the cabin bathrooms, and lacked ANY handles on closet and cabinet doors--they just had cheap holes to stick your fingers in. Cabin lighting was poorly planned, and awkward to work. Nearly everything on the ship looked "cheap" and plasticky, from cabin decor to the austere-looking 'theatre', which more resembled a drab college lecture auditorium. If we wanted to attend a show, we had to stand in long lines for advance tickets. The food was quite good overall, but all complimentary dining was "freestyle", and we really missed the 'assigned' seating choices of other cruise lines. There was a disturbing lack of elevators and stairwells for cruisers (like us) in the forward third of the ship. The Italian captain spoke poor-to-fair English, which made it difficult for us to understand his announcements. The staff was very nice and helpful--our room attendant "Arnold" was outstanding. All in all, it was a pleasant cruise, but this Norwegian ship just didn't have any "Wow" appeal. The colorful graphics painted on the outside (of the forward hull) were the brightest features in the entire ship's decor.

I have been on 15 NCL cruises, so I can say I have experience. And I have definitely experienced many types of personalities from management down to the assistant waiters. I am always pleased at the positive attitude of everyone working on the ship. When I identified issues, management made sure I was pleased with the solution. That's what keeps me returning to NCL. As for the itinerary, I sure would have liked the cruise itself to be extended to see more ports.

Long lines for customer service. First time we had to pay for entertainment.

The disembarking was a little confusing. We had booked through Norwegian transfer from ship to airport. There were many buses lined up, when I say many I mean about 35 and none of them were marked so we had no idea which bus to take. We kept asking as we passed buses and was told that bus is down further but they were not able to tell us exactly which number our bus was.

The ship overall was beautiful. Food was good, entertainment was great. The open dining times took a bit to get used to since I was used to having a set dining time. But actually after you knew how to time yourself better I actually liked it. I was just personally very disappointed with how unfriendly the staff was. We really enjoyed our cabin steward and he was the only one that received an additional tip from us. Considering we went to the same bars several times, I would have giving that bartender and additional tip if I felt as if they wanted us there.

Two days before departure all weather forecast models was predicting hurracaine Florence passing half way between Bermuda and Puerto Rico and what exactly happened. Sending Ship south in front of approaching hurracaine was irresponsible becouse exposed us to difficulties of returning. Because of it visit to Bahamas was cancelled and we spend most of the trip locked on the ship in the middle of the ocean. That's why we are very unhappy.

Gold star latitudes .Never got invite to exclusive cocktail party .Never even knew about it . The tender service was great to the private island.

The cruise was a little disappointing because of the hurricane we did not go to Bermuda and we ended up in some terrible ports like cape Canaveral which is awful and we did not end up stopping in Nassau because of time constraints I would not recommend the Florida and Bahamas cruise to anyone

My husband and I went on this trip for our honeymoon. There were a few things that disappeared us during our time on the Escape. Since we didn’t book in time for an excursion in Cape Canaveral, we were out of luck and there was nothing that could be done for us. We also couldn’t book on the first island in the Bahamas. Finally, we were able to book an excursion in Nassau Bahamas and was finally able to enjoy our honeymoon to find out that we were skipping that destination due to the weather. This was our original Bermuda cruise that was changed to Bahamas. Also, We ordered the meal package and paid gratuity for it and weren’t able to use the actual package so we lost over $30 in that. Even on my birthday, the 15th, we couldn’t make a reservation for a nice restaurant so that was a little disappointing. On Saturday, someone in your guest services told us we could submit the bingo tickets that would be used in a drawing for a free cruise and she told us the wrong time so we missed that too. To be honest, the trip was filled with a lot of disappointments during our time there. This was supposed to be nothing but special for our honeymoon.

Just book with another cruise line, this one a waste of money !
