New England and Canada Cruise by johnsimonick

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Great cruise overall. I learned that I prefer smaller ships. There was a lot of options for things to do and selected ports were excellent.

Never again will I cruise NCL by mediamutts

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

It was uneventful, crowded, worse than my first cruise years ago with Carnival. I tried NCL and strayed from Celebrity. Will never cruise NCL again.

Great visit to Bermuda by jwbertini

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

It was basically very good, we won't be sailing on Escape again. We only took it this time because it was going to Bermuda and we had never been there before.

A very nice but very crowded cruise by chewy18505063

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

We've been on 12 cruises with 4 different cruise lines and Norwegian was tied with Royal Caribbean as our favorite, but now they're down a notch or two. We've never been on a cruise we didn't enjoy including this one, but NCL has made some disappointing changes. The ship is very big, but many features are too limited for the number of guests on board. For example there are very slow, small, crowded elevators, cramped buffet facilities, a single very small adult pool, a single level theater, etc. More people, but the same amount of space allocated is a lousy equation. Going the week before Labor Day out of New York translates to a lot of kids burning their last days of summer with their folks. A LOT of kids. LOTS. So beware. No towel animals by the room stewards anymore? Really? My wife was disappointed by this lost little touch. No bottled water with the Drink Package? Martini - no problem. A bottle of water, well that's extra above the cost of the Drink Package. That's ridiculous. Why use the Atrium with limited seating and poor viewing for popular game shows and activities? If you're not the first 100 or so, you stand and probably can't see through the crowd. Why not use the theater? We also missed the elegance of a main dining room vs, the Freestyle venues. It's not something NCL can do much about, but several guests really need a refresher to Basic Manners 101. Even with all this we'd still sail NCL again without hesitation, but it may not be our first choice. As far as the port goes, Bermuda is a beautiful island. It's clean, safe, friendly, and civilized. Norwegian now also has a free ferry from the dockyard to St. George, which is a beautiful little town and a nice ferry ride. I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed by NCL this time, but not enough to scare me away for good.

Fab Bermuda by lynndecosta

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

Cruise was wonderful. However, the Escape could use an adults only dining room out of the 3 offered for free. Kids sleeping, screaming, etc. in the dining room at dinner is really annoying! Kids in the adult hot tub and pools. No discipline or staff addressing this situation. Food was amazing and staff were pleasant given some of their gruesome tasks.

Bermuda Cruise on NCL Escape by DandDcruising

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

The pluses on Escape, for us were the quality of the food and the many food and bar options. We loved the brewery, Brazilian steak house, mojito bar, Margaritaville, the waterfront area, the outdoor dining seating areas. We also loved the bump-out balcony which gave us a lot of extra viewing area. Bermuda is beautiful, but expensive, so it was nice to have our floating hotel to go back to for rest and food. The minuses on Escape, for us, were largely aspects that we compared to RC Anthem, the only other mega-ship we have sailed on. Unlike the Anthem, Escape felt very crowded all the time. There were too many bars/music and game venues plopped in the middle of the traffic areas and the pools were way too small. The Solarium on RC Anthem simply blows Escape away. If you want a real adult area with pool, hot tubs, bar and restaurant and no kids, the Anthem cannot be beat. On Escape, smoking is permitted in the casino, which takes up almost the entire core of the ship. Because the casino is open to the other floors, the second-hand smoke was a huge problem for someone like me who has asthma. For this reason alone I would probably not go on this ship again.

Wonderful Haven Experinece and Beautiful Bermuda, Otherwise Average Cruise by dckeichan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

I just feel like cruises are not what they used to be - they want to fill up the mega ships with as many rooms and people as possible so the overall quality of cruise experience has been going down it seems. We enjoyed our experiences at the Haven but I am not sure if it was worth the price we paid for. For similar price, you could go to all-inclusive luxury resort that comes with personal butler, chef and nanny, as well as more personal touch and attention.

A not so child friendly cruise by lorenaferry

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

This ship is not family friendly. Too many drunk people and not enough family oriented activities despite the photo gallery of the pool , aqua park and mini golf area. The kids pool is extremely small and crowded.

Amazing by BCShelman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

Bermuda is breathtaking. This was our first cruise, and we thought it was pretty close to perfect. The pools and hot tub's could have been managed better. It was hard to find one open. We found that people get in and stay in, regardless if someone has been waiting for a turn. The hot tub's that are marked adults only need to be enforced that way. Way to many kids in them. Staff should insist that children under a certain age not be permitted to run the ship alone. We had a few kids using the tables, chairs dishes, rails...you name it, for drums. Parents just left them alone to eat( they were probably around (4 or 5 years old) The ultimate snorkel excursion with captain Kirk was truly an adventure and a must do for anyone going to Bermuda. He was a very nice guy and knowledgeable about the island. The sunset catamaran swizzle tour on the Aristocrat ,gave us unforgettable views of the sunset. The unlimited swizzles were amazing. This is another must do excursion! The personal taxis on St. George island gave us so much history on Bermuda, on our ride to Glass beach. Our overall experience was truly amazing and we will be cruising again! A thank you to the ships crew!

Wonderful Cruise by savagedsilk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

Excellent cruise. Bermuda is a wonderful place to visit. If you can get a 2 day pass and explore on your own. It's a safe place and so much cheaper to take public ferry's and buses to places.

As I said for the most part enjoyable but preferred the Gem better due to the availability to see the shows. Not being able to get in was very disappointing.
