It is standard protocol on every cruise line to not force kids to participate in the kids club if they do not wish to do so. After some coaxing and encouragement, they will not force a child to stay. It can be traumatic to the child to feel as if he/she is being “held prisoner.” The master of managing kids at sea, Disney, has the same policy. You need to work on encouraging your child to participate, rather than blaming the ship for not holding your child against his/her will.

If a child doesn't feel comfortable going to any club, the parent(s) should not force it. The child will be very unhappy. The crew has to protect that.
