Review summary

My wife and I enjoy cruising very much. But the passengers on this particular cruise were very rude and slovenly. It takes away from your experience when people act as animalistic as they did on this cruise. It’s sad to see such a breakdown in society. We will not be sailing out of New York anytime soon nor on Norwegian for that matter.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Lots of confusion. We’ve embarked from NY before, but there a lot of chaos this time for whatever reason.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The quality of food was definitely under par this time out. The best meals were eaten had teppanyaki. We ate there twice. Very very loud, but good food.

Teppanyaki

4 out of 5

I give four stars as for me too loud. I like to have a conversation during dinner but there are moments when the noise is too much. But the food is always on point. Never a bad meal from here. Always a good experience.

5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar

5 out of 5

The bartender GK was always quick to fill your glass and clean the bar and all with a smile and a joke. Very enthusiastic and very friendly. Drinks were spot on.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
We do not get involved with onboard activities as we like to chill when on vacation. The “adult zones” were always packed, but unfortunately just because you are over 18 does not make you an adult. It should be labeled “ Mature Zone”.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff as always was above par. They were and are awesome. They should be praised for their efforts to make the experience better.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The staff was doing their best to keep up with 4,000 slobs. Parents not watching their kids and just people in general, mostly from different cultures, making messes and leaving plates and sometimes food with no plates on the floor where ever they wanted.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was always clean. Within minutes of us leaving our steward would be in there taking care of business. No issues at all.

Ship tip

Wait. Don’t go until it gets refurbished. Which, hopefully, will be soon. If you sail, sail out of Bayonne not New York. Too much chaos and your cruise will be more manageable.

Ports of call

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

4 out of 5
This port as always is awesome. We did not do an excursion. Just enjoyed Bermuda. But you can see the transformation. Commercialism is taking over. Sad. What makes this place so nice to visit is its “ untainted” feel. But it seems that will soon come to an end.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Very smooth this time. Very short wait time. Got through with no issues.

We went last sept 30 school was in and the cruise was great. The only issue we had were loud obnoxious foreigners by the pool getting really drunk and loud, other than that it was great and Bermuda was beautiful

I sailed on this same cruise. I underestimated people wanting to be home before the start of school. The result was an overcapacity cruise of 5000. The slobby passengers were a turn off, but I tried to ignore it. Teppanyaki is a dinner show, and the clanging knives are part of it. I thought the staff were great, and I loved Bermuda. I’ll definitely go back, but maybe check the school calendar next time. Hopefully you enjoyed it anyway.
