Review summary

It was basically very good, we won't be sailing on Escape again. We only took it this time because it was going to Bermuda and we had never been there before.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very good. We are Platinum Lattitudes, we asked where to check in we were 2nd in line and we went right through and boarded right away.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
All the restaurants have the same menus, not that much variety. I was disappointed a second time when they failed to provide the lactose free milk I requested. All they had was fat free and that was unacceptable. And they kept trying to give me Soy or Almond milk. Finally the Maitre' D in the Garden Café got me the milk when we got to Bermuda. Last time she got it in Barbados. BTW, she remembered me from our first trip on Escape.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Trivia, Deal or no Deal, Escape from the Big Top mystery game. Pool, hot tub, H20 and tubing. We also took the complimentary ship's tour which is free for Platinum members, very good.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Choir of Man was super, second time we attended the show. After Midnight was good. Could have more acts in the Atrium between activities. The combo at poolside was very good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The crew makes every effort to accommodate your needs, cheerfully and courteously. The Captain was great about sailing around hurricane Dorian, we only had a little bumpy ride for about a day and a half and got to NYC only about 6 hours late. The cabin steward was fantastic as were the servers in the specialty and regular dining rooms.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
This ship is about the same as the Breakaway, maybe a little bigger. The layout is pretty easy to navigate, even though I made a wrong turn here and there.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
A bit small, the large bed was very close to the wall unit and you had to squeeze by especially with suit cases. We have booked a mini suite for our next cruise on the Breakaway next year.

Ship tip

Go online and get familiar with the layout, don't go without some research.

Ports of call

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

4 out of 5
Bermuda was very nice, extremely hot though. But we did enjoy night fishing on the Jolly Roger, Segway Tour, and a trip to Horseshoe Bay.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
The worst yet, maybe it was because we were late or maybe because people did not abide by the set times to disembark, it took us 2 hours on line to get off the ship in serpentine lines like Disney world. Luckily customs has face recognition which saves the need to show your passport.

Thanks for sharing! One of the top cruises we have taken! Read our review. We really enjoyed this ship. Great amenities, staff and surprisingly good food (which we never expect on a cruise). We certainly would recommend this ship to anyone looking for a cruise on a beautiful ship with really good destinations.

Please share why you won’t go on Escape again. We’re looking forward to our 3rd trip on her next month. Keep in mind that the disembarkation may have been out of NCLs control. Homeland Security takes over once you dock. Our worse disembarkation in NYC was 10 years ago on a ship half the size of Escape. It’s typically a smooth disembarkation

Btw mini suite is exactly the same size room as the regular cabin its the bathroom that is the only difference and can someone please tell me what standard balcony cabin is roomy they are all essentially the same size uts the price you pay for going on a cruise if you want a big sprawling room go to an all inclusive island

What besides the disembarkation issue makes you not want to sail on the Escape again? We are booked on the Escape in February 2020 out of Miami.

If it was such a good cruise and the only real issue was disembarking what is the reason you would not go back on the Escape?
