Great cruise to Eastern Caribbean on Norwegian Escape by Picone205

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape

Overall a great experience and many memories were made. Freestyle had its upsides, with great flexibility in dining choices, changes in dining atmosphere ( many times what I would consider elegant dining in a casual environment) with great food. Downside of this was difficulty in enjoying to evening entertainment in venues that were way too small to handle the volume. You will be able find some quiet place to sit and relax. Overall, the experience with drinks was that they are way over poured and too strong to be enjoyed, sometimes they were even undrinkable, so we put it aside and ordered something else. Perfect example was a pina colada. They poured the rum on top, so you could see all the rum you were getting, we poured have to rum off so we could then enjoy the drink. Very wasteful.

Was pretty good for the family by tahdow11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Escape

Not too bad given the weather and high winds, boat was a rocking! Main pool is always full and good chairs are gone by breakfast because entitled idiots go and set their stuff on them to claim all day even though they are only there for a couple hours in prime hours.

Best entertainment of any cruise I’ve been on by bakg00

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape

Great entertainment, so so good, drinks were good, islands were nice. I know NCL can’t control the weather but Tortola trip to beach should have been cancelled. I was afraid we wouldn’t make it back due to downpours and mud slides.

An Okay Cruise with Multiple Issues by heyjude1980

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Escape

My recent cruise experience with Norwegian Cruise Line left much to be desired. While there were some highlights, such as the kind and wonderful service from certain staff members and the beautiful port at Falmouth, Jamaica, several significant issues marred the overall journey. Dining experiences were inconsistent, with standout meals at Bayamo and Savor contrasting with disappointing experiences at Cagney's and Taste. The ship felt severely understaffed, leading to slow service and frustrations in various areas, particularly in bar areas and free dining options. Entertainment options were limited, with few show productions and a disappointing policy of charging cover fees for comedy shows and other performances. Conversations with other passengers revealed frustrations with partially refunded excursions and safety concerns at certain ports of call, such as Great Stirrup Cay. Boarding and disembarking processes were marred by delays, bottlenecking, and difficulties in locating luggage, further exacerbated by a system that favored passengers who opted for porter assistance. Ultimately, these issues, along with the overall feeling of being nickel-and-dimed for various services, have led me to the decision that I more than likely will not be sailing with Norwegian Cruise Line again.

We make the most of a vacation. Overall had a great time. This was our 4th NCL cruise and 9th cruise total, had multiple issues that may sway us to a different cruise line in the future.

1st time cruise, the good, the bad, the ugly and the horrible by Dmeb330

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Escape

Background: our first cruise. Family of 6. 2 separate rooms on deck 10. One balcony room and one interior cabin. Our package came with $50 excursion credit per excursion and 150 min internet package. Pre paid the service fees on line and my husband added the soda package and upgraded internet to him only. The GOOD: food was great and easily accessible. Rooms were clean and felt like a good use of space. Beds were comfy. And showers had shampoo and bodywash available. Ship was well maintained. The BAD: AC didn't work in one room the first night, 150 min internet does not apply to minors, ships communication package at $10/person doesn't work 95% of the time. The ship was crowded. There were never chairs available by pools unless you were the first ones there. The larger pool was for 18+ and the small family pool was over crowded and kids had no room to move. Rope courses close ten minutes before their posted close times so that the employees can get to different work areas in time. $50 credit only applies to the first person in the room, so if they don't want to go, no credit. Jewelry shop employees mislead you to make money. Ship smells like cigarettes, Laundry service is extremely expensive. There are no self laundry options. Soda package is not worth it. The only place you can get a soda is at a bar, where the bartenders are catering to people with alcohol packages. The wait for any given soda was 30mins. The UGLY: The ships tendering process is very poorly run and does not leave you time on the island. time from ship to island was 1 hour and 10 mins. Time waiting in line for tender to get back to ship was 95 mins. Once on that tender another 35 mins to get back to boat. Food service on this island stops promptly at 2pm so they can bring it back to the boat. They will take it away in front of you. Excursion listed as "relax at long bay beach, beef island" DO NOT DO THIS ONE. The group running it begs for tip money and explains slum like living conditions. The beach area is run down with broke facilities, dangerous showers. You must rent their chairs and umbrella, its not optional and very misleading. The HORRIBLE: When asked for a diet coke, waitress served my alcoholic husband a whiskey and coke. My 11 yr old sipped it first while waiting for his drink to be filled and said there was something wrong. Husband tried it and realized it was almost pour alcohol. No apology from waitress, just an "i must have grabbed the wrong glass" Yes, we told guest services and no we were not happy with their apology.

One and done! by cherylrheaume

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Escape

Royal, Carnival the best. NCL made their mistake by tips included so no one working feels like they have to prove anything to you. Watch out what drink package you purchase the one included does not offer bottle water. you either pay $3.00 per bottle or drink tap water. Talk about them Nickel and dimeing you.

A very nice cruise by beckyjp54

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Escape

We enjoyed most of the cruise. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. Our room was excellent. The ports were good wasn’t crazy about the layout of the ship layout just kind of felt boxed in. The atrium was very small the pool was very small. But all in all I would recommend this cruise
