Review summary

Cruise itself was fantastic. Working with and the air department NCL Was a nightmare! We called the emergency travel and the insurance and got no help! I was with a handicapped person and they left us stranded!! I ended up diverting from their plan, making our own arrangements. Hope we get reimbursed. This is a terrible idea to book your air through and new NCL!!

Once again, departure air travel nightmare. Flight was canceled and rebooked for the day before ship arrived in Rome. They tried to get us to take a train from Florence port, to get to Rome for flight . It involved two train transfers with handicapped pardon and missing day in Florence!

That's what happens when you book through a third party, you can then only deal with them. The cruiseline will not help when you use a third party, just like hotels and airlines! Always book direct!!!

We were on the same cruise. There was an air traffic control strike in Italy on the day we disembarked and I know that caused chaos for a lot of people, for some the choice was either to disembark a day early or stay on in Rome additional days after the cruise. Sorry you were affected, thankfully we were one of the lucky ones and had no issues with our flights and transfers booked through NCL. I think in future though I would fly in a day early for additional peace of mind.

Sorry the air portion was a debacle. Glad you were able to enjoy some of your cruise in spite of it.
