Review summary

Love this ship and this trip was a once n a lifetime experience

Embarkation

5 out of 5
From Rome we took a train from Termini to the port (4.5 euro per person) and then a 3 euro bus ride to the ship. No matter what the NCL site says we had to show proof of COVID vaccination including a booster, or we would have had to pay for a test. All of Europe considers you vaccinated only with a third or fourth dose if your first and second are longer than 290 days before embarkment. All together took maybe 45 minutes to get on board.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Almost every meal we had was great. We didn’t use the Garden Cafe for main meals, just small things throughout the day or night.

Cagney's Steakhouse

5 out of 5

Of our 4 specialty dining we ate here 3 times and everything was good. We never had reservations and walked right in. We love sitting outside for dinner here.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We were at the pool constantly and also watched some trivia shows in the atrium. Loved Spice H20. The cruise director’s on this ship Jack and Jeff were EVERYWHERE. It was nice to see them all the time.

Entertainment

WOW. The ship was just out of dry dock and you can tell the entertainment staff was happy to be back…

Escape Theater

Choir of Man was an amazing show I went and saw it 3 times. This is a do not miss.

Service and Staff

Alfie and Noel by the pool deck were amazing. We tip extra by the pool deck and we never waited for a thing, they got us chairs every day and we really enjoyed talking with these guys.

Ports of call

Santorini, Greece

Did a ship excursion here to Oia and Fira, got to spend time in both cities. We were the only ship in town that day but it was still very busy. I booked the excursion because I had heard it was busy but I should have looked to see how many ships were in the port. If there aren’t a bunch of ships in port you can take the trolley up to Fira for 6 euro and then a bus to Oia for 1.60 euro. Would have saved me a ton e of money. Both places were stunningly beautiful. We went back to the ship and had dinner watching the sunset.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

Took a bus tour to the Parthenon and the first Olympic stadium, very interesting tour.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

Stayed here before our trip. Love Rome

Naples, Italy

Did Pompeii on our own… so amazing to see, have done Capri on previous cruises and that was well worth it also. You can’t go wrong in this port.

Corfu, Greece

Rented a taxi to got to Kontogialos beach and it was amazing, water was clear tonnes of fish. It was 120 euro round trip, my only advice is to find someone to share the taxi with if you are only 2 people. Same price with 2 or 4.

Messina, Sicily

Just walked about on our own, make sure to be in the main square to watch the clock tower at noon. So amazing to see.

Valletta, Malta

Did the 3 cities and boat ride tour, unfortunately our tour guide was very bland and only talked about the history of every rock in every building we saw. Skip the boat tours and take a water taxi (2euro per person) to the 3 cities and venture on your own.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

We were exhausted by the time we got here and spent a relaxing day on the ship.
