The cruise itself was very nice. We had calm seas, good weather after the first day with snow, good food, nice staff, & ports I enjoy. I didn't like the overall ship itself as was the discussion with most people we met. It needs a nice solarium for the regular people to go to read, play cards, chat but on this ship that was reserved for the Haven people which left the rest of us out of luck. People said they would not go back on the Escape for that reason - felt if they didn't purchase a room in the Haven they weren't good enough to have a place to go and enjoy. The rooms are smaller and tight! Enjoyed the itinerary and food. The shows were just okay with no nice big productions. Sorry, but this ship is off my list.
Embarkation

Wait for hours for them to disinfect the ship after previous voyage had the nurovirus! We were not given any info or how long it would be before we could board! Horrible customer service!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food and staff were excellent! ! Drinks were good, especially the Mudd Slides!
Staff overworked because they had to take care of cleaning the ship and take care of their passenger duties. Rooms were late in being made up, long lines for plates, utensils & food in buffet because they had staff serving, had to ask for salt, pepper, sugar etc because none of the condiments were on the tables anymore. First week was terrible because we were second to the cleaning!
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Really not much to do unless you liked to watch contests, games etc. Pool was okay, but chairs were so tight couldn't move! Hot tub always crowded but good.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The entertainment was good but not at all like they advertise - no really big production numbers or spectacular performances. Comedians were good, a few groups played very well, other shows were okay.
Children's Programs
NO KIds
Service and Staff

The ship's staff was great! Very nice people. They were doing double duty with having to clean the ship and take care of their regular job too. They smiled through it all! They should get a nice bonus!
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
This ship has a horrible design. No place for the public to play cards, read, talk, or enjoy one another. The Atrium was always used for contests, games etc so never a place to sit, the only nice place was RESERVED FOR THE HAVEN - is this ship going back to "classes" like the old days? I felt like a peon since I only had a balcony room. How horrible that a few who pay for the Haven are accommodated while the general room people are made to scrounge for a place to enjoy. I would not go back on this particular ship, and a lot of other people felt the same because of that... we paid too, but didn't get the same feeling of respect. Most people wondered around looking for a place to sit so they used the restaurants that weren't open yet or took up tables in the buffet!
Cabin / Stateroom

Room was kept well by our room steward even though he had cleaning the ship duties besides! The size was overall smaller than some other ships, the closet was sideways up against the couch so very hard to get clothes out, and nothing on TV that pertained to anything but political news, same movies & shows over and over!
Ship tip
Don't, there are other NCL ships and other cruise lines that are so much nicer than the Escape! Most people did not like the ship itself because it was hard to find a place to just relax!
Love this port because it has a shuttle that comes right up to the ship and takes you into the shopping area (it is a long walk & most passengers are seniors) and to the water taxi! The beach is clean, not overly crowded, has plenty of chairs/umbrellas at a reasonable price.
Took a day pass from a third party to a resort and was treated to a wonderful day of 4 drinks per person, umbrella, lounge chair, half hour massage, lunch and transportation.
