Q: Is there a games room on the NCL Escape, and if so, what kinds of games do they have? (e.g. cribbage, chess, board games)Thanks!

A: The ship has a library but there wasn’t a dedicated games room. When we were on the ship three weeks ago they did have games available on the tables in Le Bistro every day. Just the generic stuff like chess/checkers, Chinese checkers, backgammon. The... re were usually people playing their own games they brought with them at tables in the buffet or on the Waterfront.See More

A: You can bring your own games..not sure if the ship has them.
Answered by enjoyurdaysmile on November 18, 2023
A: It is located in the Headliner club! I was just on the Escape, the club is not really very large with limited seating so make sure that you get there a smidge early to get good seats!

Q: If I bid on a room upgrade…say to a balcony…if it gets approved, do I get to pick the room, or is it just assigned to me?
Thumbs Up

A: No you don't. Just beware that if you are trying to upgrade from say an oceanview to a balcony, you will most likely get an obstructed view balcony with like a lifeboat in the way! It's still an upgrade pursay. but not a great one! Don't expect mu... ch if you win a bid unless you bid on a suite! Just want you to be aware.See More
Answered by crusin4gramma on September 27, 2023
A: You have no say it’s a upgrade but you have no choice of the room you may not even k ow until a couple days before. I like know my room no matter the upgrade that’s why don’t take part in that.
Answered by longisland on September 27, 2023
A: You have no say in what room. You can only bid on the class of room. Also know that when you bid, your bid may not be accepted until after the ship has embarked, which means you unpack, then pack, then unpack again. You will also have to go to the se... rvice desk, stand in line, and have another card made, as they void the card once your bid is accepted. If your bid is accepted, and you don’t like your new room, you are stuck. No refunds, no do overs. I always suggest just getting the best room that your budget allows when you book. Nobody wins in a bid, unless you have bid beyond the value of any specific room.See More

Q: Going on the Escape in Nov to Bermuda…first time with NCL…are there really no formal nights? And what are best excursions to do in Bermuda?
Thumbs Up

A: NCL is more casual but they usually have a formal night for those that want to dress up. Many people do. Many don't. That's the best part about NCL in my opinion. Dress how you want, eat when you want. Truly freestyle. And I'm on the Escape to Bermud... a in November as well. I've never been to Bermuda but we have rented a Twizzy for a day to go throughout the island on our own.See More
Answered by jenlburt on September 27, 2023

A: The shampoo and Body gel is in the shower on containers. If you need more, if you use it, write a note to your state room attendant and leave it in the bathroom and anything else you need

Q: We sail the Escape in November. I want to buy thermal spa passes before boarding but I’ve also put a bid in for a Haven Spa upgrade. Does anyone know if I would get refunded for the purchase of the passes if we win the bid for the spa suite? Thanks in advance!
Thumbs Up

A: You have to be careful with Haven upgrades because they tell you up front that many Haven upgrades are not included in the Haven bid. If you booked the spa package through NCL, you should be able to get a refund, but you may want to call to cancel. A... s I mentioned in a previous post, sometimes you won’t be told until after the ship has embarked by as much as 5 hours. (We learned this the hard way). Some of the packages are not refundable once the ship is under way. As I also mentioned before, bidding is just not as good a deal as they make it sound. Ships are probably not going to automatically refund you, especially if you have won an upgrade.See More
Answered by stephncj on September 28, 2023
A: You will definitely be refunded for the spa if you are upgraded to Haven spa suite, but you’ll have to ask for the refund. You get ALL Haven perks if upgraded to Haven, except any fee at sea promotions you didn’t already have with your previous cabi... n.See More

Q: Hearing a lot of people complaining that quality of food and service on all brands of cruise ships are quickly diminishing and getting worse. Has anyone seen this on NCL? And specifically how is the experience on the escape?

A: Escape was my first and last cruise on Norwegian. food was fit for a nursing home more than a cruise ship. I'll stick with MSC!

Q: Does anyone know if Norwegian Escape Cruise on December 9th is docking at Taino Bay Or Amber Cove in Puerta Plata Dominican

A: Taino Bay. NCL was only using Amber Cove (Carnival's port) temporarily to allow Taino Bay to be dredged.
Answered by kierwill on August 23, 2023
A: Ask for them and they’ll be provided by the steward.

Q: I am booked on the Escape for a 5 night cruise to Bermuda. The ship is scheduled to leave port at 8 PM. Can anyone tell me what time I will be able to board the ship? We are looking to board at the earliest time to enjoy all the ship has to offer.!

A: Check-in generally opens up between 10 and 11 am. As you get closer to your sailing, you'll get a notification to select a check-in time. By all means board as early as possible, have lunch, get your safety requirements out of the way, make your rese... rvations for shows and dining, etc. Then just relax. Rooms become available starting at 2ish.See More

A: the person wasn't saying that her son will be going on a cruise by himself. the person was saying she was wondering if any other cruise family has a son of his age.
Answered by enjoyurdaysmile on June 25, 2023
A: I believe the cruise ship has planned activities for young people that are safe and supervised, which would also allow you to have some alone time, if that's what you were looking for.

Q: I purchased the free at sea drink pkg. I also pre-pay $280 for gratuties. I will be charged $20 per day per person on a 7 day cruise, that's another $280 that's $560 for tips which is outlandish!!!! How do I get the additional $280 removed from my bill or can I? help

A: if you prepaid your gratuitues you will not be charged again. you need to read more carefully!
Answered by crusin4gramma on June 6, 2023
A: If you prepaid for gratuities you are NOT charged the $20 per day. That charge is the same that you prepaid, and is billed as a daily charge for people that don’t prepay.
Answered by Jerrec on June 6, 2023
A: The free at sea isnt free. the first amound is 20 percent of the drink package. the 20 per day goes towards other areas(Room stewards , waiters). You can go to the front desk regarding the 20 per person per day with service issues to pay less but the... staff work so hard they deserve the daily service chargeSee More
Answered by JuliebSteveb on June 8, 2023
A: If you opted to pre-pay the gratuities they will not charge the amount again. Cruisers who waived the pre-pay option and selected to pay gratuities onboard will see the per day charges post to their onboard account. A plus for pre-paying gratuities a... nd activities is a streamlined embarkation and disembarkation, in my experience.See More

A: Mikedede it's not $135 a day that's for a week.I get at least 2 frozen drinks and it's already paid form
Answered by Mapcruise on June 6, 2023
A: I don’t believe you can remove it. It is part of their terms. Basically, they are saying you’ll drink around $115 a person a day and would leave an 18% tip. The prepaid gratuities are for all the other dining and crew staff. They work hard and don’t... generally get tipped since it is mostly free once on board, so this is how they compensate them for the lack of payment from cruisers and thus tips.See More

Q: Anyone know why ncl is not posting any shore excursions yet for June 2024 Mediterranean cruise . They only have 7 total to look at. It’s been the same 7 for like the last 3 or 4 months

A: You can call NCL and ask them. I believe the 7 you are currently seeing are tours that never change. Typically the Cruiselines solidify additional excursions closer to your departure date. By January, you should see more. I would recommend bookin... g as soon as they become available since they do fill quickly.See More
