Review summary

Overall, we love cruising the Mediterranean but we missed a lot of the usual customer service on this trip. I requested assistance several times for issues and each time it was a hassle and most times never resolved. I always thought that the staff/crew was what set cruises to a higher level beyond a resort or all inclusive and was therefor why we spent our money on cruises. That is, sadly, no longer the case. We will rethink our future plans.

Food and Dining

Dinners took forever, 2.5-3 hours every single night-both in specialty and main dining. Definitely customer service is lacking and it's quite evident in these areas. Food was good though.

Service and Staff

Several days we got no towels, had to go find the cart myself and get towels, only the bare minimum was done in the room, only once per day also. In general, customer service is very lacking.

Ship Quality

The design on the outdated Epic was terrible. We did this cruise in 2014 and had a Haven Owner's Suite so it isn't fair to compare to a Club Suite. However, the fact that there is absolutely no privacy in the room when using the restroom or showering is an awful design and whoever came up with it should be out of the design business. Also, one location only for plugs, terrible. Overall this room was NOT worth the money we spent and we won't go again on any ship with this design.

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

Naples, Italy

Book a private tour, it's cheaper and you get a FAR better personalized experience. This port is amazing and has so much to offer.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

The chaos of having to take a shuttle (not free either) or taxi across the highway was not good.

Ibiza, Balearic Islands

Barcelona, Spain

Again, chaotic and costly to have to take a shuttle just to get where you can walk or catch a sightseeing bus was so unnecessary.

Cannes, France

Love this port, but we stood in line for over an hour just to get a tender...and we were supposedly priority. We talked to many people that missed their excursion due to the chaos.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy
