We had a wonderful time on our first Norwegian cruise. There is something for everyone on the Epic. The number of people on the ship can be daunting but there are places to get away from the crowds on the ship. Getting on and off the ship in port went smoothly for the most part even with the high volume of passengers.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Enjoyed three specialty restaurants, Garden View buffet, and the Manhattan. Teppanyaki provides entertainment while the chef prepares excellent food at your table.
Onboard Activities

The fitness center and Mandara Spa exceeded my expectations. My husband and I enjoyed the thermal suite after returning to the ship from shore excursions.
Entertainment

Burn the Floor and Howl at the Moon were great shows and a lot of fun.

Service and Staff

The crew on the ship were attentive, friendly, and provided high quality service.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship was very clean and we did not have any trouble finding anything we were looking for onboard. We did not like having to walk through the casino to access other areas.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
We loved our cabin's location as it was next to the spa and fitness center. The bathroom set up was a little weird with a curtain separating the tub/shower area. To take a shower, a person has to climb into a very deep tub that is a little tricky to navigate.
Ship tip
Book shore excursions and specialty restaurants in advance if possible because there are long lines of people on the ship requesting help and these things tend to sell out quickly.
We spent several days in San Juan before and after the cruise and did not participate in a Norwegian excursion. We visited a number of restaurants and landmarks using Uber.
