Boat was overall very good, but I'd recommend taking land excursions from somebody else. Norwegian needs tours for more adventurous people who aren't that interested in shopping.

The only thing we missed was a quiet lounge with a good vier. Usually in the front of the ship, but we did not experience on the Epic.

Don'tvpay any attentionto towels left on deck chairs. People jest leave them there. They usually are not taken.
Tour of Amalfi cost and Pompeii was great, but tour guide hustled us through Pompeii, than left us in a jewelry shop for 45 minutes. Didn;t want to be there, and really wanted more time in Pompei. That was a bummer.
Florence was interesting to walk through, but the guide was hard to understand. Eient get to go inside anywhere, which was disappointing. Pisa was worth the stop.
Really disappointing. The guide really didn't "guide". Walked around a market in Nice. I;ve been in more interesting grocery stores. No guide. Walked around the casino in Monte Carlo. Again no guide. After one loop of the square, nothing else to do. SHort walk with guide in Monaco. Couldnt hear much. By the time our end of the line got to where she was, she was gone and we couldnt ask any questions. We would have been much better off just taking the train to Monaco and riding the hop on/off bus.
Beautiful cathedral and good inside tour, but guide was very hard to understand. Then 2 hours of shopping. Total waste. Guide could have led those of us who didnt care to shop on an exploring tour or something of the like. SHe just disappeared. Interesting fort at the end of the tour that I would have liked to explore, but no time because of all the time spent shopping.
Not great. We were initially told to disembark at 0745, but at 0715 we realized that we had already been called. Good thing we happend to check our TV. There were no announcements. Pretty much on our own after we got off the bus at the airport. SOme better direction would have helped.
We usually appreciate free time after the guided tour, not necessarily to shop but walk around getting a feel of the place, having a bite of local food.

There are great options for 3rd party excursion providers, I’m only using NCL for the first time this October in Santorini because with discount it’s actually reasonable price, we will be guaranteed an early tender and it’s not starting from Fira so we will only have to queue for a cable on the way down instead of both ways. Otherwise, 3rd party all the way, we have never had any issues.
