Review summary

, I was not late for the ship, but they would not let my 18-year-old daughter on the boat because she did not have the booster shot ( which there is nothing on the website or in any of the email pre-cruise say you must have just the 2 shots which she had, we had to go back to roam to get the shot $300 round trip) then had to fly to the 1st port to meet up with the boat another $300. and 170 for the hotel room for one night

Embarkation

we were not allowed on the ship because my daughter did not have the booster and we had to drive back to Rome to the only place that could give it to her then drive back to the port even tough they had a doctore at the port till noon that day and the haveing to have a booster was not a goverment mandate, but a protacall from Ncl which they could of let us on. so we had to fly to the ships 1st port Naples and stay in a hotel for one night the cost for all this was over $1,000

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
the staff at the port which would not let us on the ship were just horrible, would not try and get us to a place she could get the booster and get back to the ship before it left, which if the medical staff could have done, but just let us site there for 3 hours till the ast GM of the ship finally talked to us then the GM of the ship ased me to come meet with him, and he just patronised me, and just said it was totally our fault. I have been in the hospitality biz for over 40 years if one of my managers had treated one of my customers, I would fire them but the service staff, my concierge, room steward and other service personal were just great

The canne film festival was on with the 700,00 extra people in town (saw Tone Cruise and Jonney Dept) the ship did not tell any of the customers on the epic, (because they did not want people cancelling the shore excursions that day, which I know three guessed at I told about the festiveal that played texus Holdom in the casino)

NCL is not known for its customer service. They're known for cheap cruises. I experienced that last month and won't use them again. Screw NCL

In the EU you need your booster. You had to check before your cruise, not the fault of the cruiseline...

Itineraries that include Italy, Spain, Greece, France, and Portugal require a booster, for all individuals 18 years or older, if their original vaccine course was taken more than 270 days prior to embarkation. For itineraries which require boosters, in lieu of a booster 270 days after the primary series, guests may present a government recognized or official medical Certificate of Recovery. For European Citizens, this would include an EU Green Pass or comparable certificate. For all others unable to present an EU Green Pass (i.e. US Citizens) a doctor’s note, plus a laboratory confirmed PCR test result with the proper information (i.e. Name, Date, Date of Birth, Positive Result, etc.) will be accepted. For EU sailings Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine will be accepted for vaccinated children and teens between the ages of 5 and 17 and Moderna (Spikevax) for children 12-17 years of age. Guests who cannot meet the above requirements should not travel to the ship as they will be unable to board.
