Food and Dining

The food didn't seem as appetizing on this cruise as it was on the Alaska cruise and when it was American cuisine night there were no mashed potatoes and gravy. Not all Americans like hamburgers and hot dogs.

Ship Quality

Norwegian is top notch on keeping the ship clean, but the design was lacking. I like the design of Norwegian Pearl better than the Epic.
Cabin / Stateroom

The bed was very comfortable and there was enough room in the cabin, barely though, but the Epic was not designed with CPAP users in mind. There are no electrical plugins near the head of the bead.
We spent three days in Barcelona before boarding the Epic. We road the Hop on Hop off buses and saw lots of sights. I felt the food was very bland, but loved the crepes.
We went to Amalfi and Pompei and we had a great tour guide. We got our excursion through American Airlines. There was time for shopping for souvenirs in Amalfi or time to eat and there was time to eat lunch in Pompeii or shop.
We saw the Vatican, the Colosseum, Trevi fountain, Pantheon and one or two other sights but they are a blur. It was great seeing all of the sights, but because there were so many tourist groups it was hard to get in to really see the sights and really enjoy them. But if you are only going to be in Rome once you want to see all that you can. There was no time for shopping fro souvenirs. We must have eaten lunch somewhere, but I can't remember where. This excursion was also through American Airlines.
This was a great tour. Our guide took us to Pisa first and we were there before the throngs of people started coming. By the time we left there were lots of other tours there and still coming. We even had time to shop for souvenirs. Then we went to Florence and had time to eat lunch and shop for souvenirs again as well as see the sights. This excursion was through American Airlines.
We were very unhappy with this excursion. It was one of two that we booked through Norwegian. The excursion either needs to be longer in time or a tour guide who is not a robot. After being on the bus and arriving in Nice, the guide just started to take our group on the tour. There were several (at least 10 out of 40) who asked about bathrooms and the guide pointed them out and explained them but kept right on with the tour. She should have taken the hint and stopped for a 10 minute restroom break and then continued on with the tour and everyone would have been much more comfortable. She also said to grab something to eat there or buy something to take to eat as there would be no time for lunch later. It was 10:30 in the morning. Most of our tour group left her as soon as she said where to meet back at and what time to take care of their human needs. After we met back up, we walked through a beautiful park to meet up with our bus. Our bus was not there and was at another location ready to pick us up. Our guide had to communicate with another bus driver to get in contact with our bus driver and he then came to where we were waiting. This wasted about 20 - 30 minutes of our tour. From there we went to Ese which is beautiful. Then we went to tour a perfume factory. This is where there could be time allowed for a nice lunch. Those who don't want to tour the perfume plant could get lunch or make the tour longer to allow for lunch. I do not recommend this tour the way it is planned out now. Our tour guide kept saying over and over that if we didn't get back to the ship in time that she would call them and let them know and that the ship would wait for us. This was not very assuring. We did make it back in time but barely.
We booked another excursion through Norwegian, but there was thunder and lightening and it poured. We didn't get into port in time for our tour to begin on time and so we missed a scheduled time to see a cathedral. Norwegian refunded our money and we went ashore and did the Hop on Hop off buses. This worked out great.
