Great Cruise! Entertainment is NOT family friendly in the Epic Theater! Otherwise we enjoyed the cruise. Ports were generally amazing and we had great experiences at most. We are sailing Epic again in the Spring, really hoping for entertainment changes, though we doubt it will happen. Much more to do on this ship than go to the Epic Theater.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
New Cruise Terminal makes check in a breeze, best emparkation process ever!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
New menus made for some surprises as some of our personal favorites have been deleted. Food is still superior.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Too many large activities in Atrium. Makes for major congestion
on decks 5 and 6 (O'Sheahans pub above Atrium)
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Except for the Circus Dinner entertainment (extra cost) which was 6 stars, the entertainment in main theater varies from crude and distasteful (do not take kids) to tired and predictable. I travel NCL exclusively and this is the worst on-board entertainment I have experienced. I've been on the Dawn, Pearl, Sun and Escape, Epic ranks far below any of them in this category.
Children's Programs
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
It was getting obvious many were at the end of their contract, still great service, just many looked very tired.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship is very clean!
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Stateroom feels cramped because of design. I can see why this is the only ship in the fleet with staterooms of this design. If we had family staying in room with us it would have been awkward.
Each to his own, would have walked out of one so because of all the f-bombs and a faux rape. But was in center of theater and I respect the actors too much to interrupt the performance for them or others, would have if I had children with me. This just a warning for families with children that it is not family friendly, the other show we saw was tired, that is all. Loved the Cirque show which others have reviewed that didn't like it. My point, read very closely the details of the shows before making reservations, I wish I had.
