Make reservations for specialty dining, shows as early as possible! Even if you have no reservations for the shows, go there half hour before show time and stand in the “standby” line, chances are you can get in.

Getting a seat in the Observation deck is hard. Expect to stand and wait awhile to get lucky.

Do NOT see the doctor on the Encore. His behavior was unconscionable and unethical.

Be aware when you return the charges never end on your card with NO explanation of what they are for

Go to Local restaurant
Susancmartin
Choose your restaurant early for each day. We didn't do this until we boarded the ship.

The elevators in the aft area of the ship don’t seem to get as much traffic as the forward elevators.
CapFamily
Bring your patience with you. The elevators can take sometime with the amount of people onboard. Eat in the smaller dining rooms, Taste or Savor. They are more intimate. If you are going into Glacier Bay and have a balcony, stay in your room. The ship does at least 2 360 degree turns for glacier viewing.

For a trip like this, port side balcony is the best!
MyTimeCruising
Book the crab bake and skip the salmon bake.

Enjoy your trip and relax!
hretana
Not to go on it. Too crowded and too expensive.
djarrard
Don't go to Cagney's and order steak for dinner.

1. If you are looking for connecting rooms, I would call NCL. 2. Once you enter the sound on the return trip, all shops and casino are closed, and you start paying taxes on beverages and meals purchased after entering the sound. If you want to shop, do it before then. 3. Book your train tip early for Skagway. They sell out early.

Avoid "Deal or No Deal" and Bingo, unless you're really desparate for something to do.
Applecore
Three pieces of advice: Consider booking a spa room if you are planning an Alaskan cruise. A balcony is a wonderful way to spot whales and to view the glaciers. If crusing in September, be prepared for rain.
Elainamo
Don’t waste your money at the Spa.

Just enjoy

Take medication with you even if you’re not sick, someone will be. You don’t want someone else to dampen your trip because they’re sick. We caught RSV because someone was sick. Lesson learned. It will now become part of our cruise bag.
RogueWaveRider
The ship has a lot of different venues to explore and to enjoy. Take time to explore the ship and find the spots away from the crowds for you to enjoy the sea breeze and beautiful ocean views.
