Make reservations for specialty dining, shows as early as possible! Even if you have no reservations for the shows, go there half hour before show time and stand in the “standby” line, chances are you can get in.

Bring your patience with you. The elevators can take sometime with the amount of people onboard. Eat in the smaller dining rooms, Taste or Savor. They are more intimate. If you are going into Glacier Bay and have a balcony, stay in your room. The ship does at least 2 360 degree turns for glacier viewing.

1. If you are looking for connecting rooms, I would call NCL. 2. Once you enter the sound on the return trip, all shops and casino are closed, and you start paying taxes on beverages and meals purchased after entering the sound. If you want to shop, do it before then. 3. Book your train tip early for Skagway. They sell out early.

Three pieces of advice: Consider booking a spa room if you are planning an Alaskan cruise. A balcony is a wonderful way to spot whales and to view the glaciers. If crusing in September, be prepared for rain.

Take medication with you even if you’re not sick, someone will be. You don’t want someone else to dampen your trip because they’re sick. We caught RSV because someone was sick. Lesson learned. It will now become part of our cruise bag.

The ship has a lot of different venues to explore and to enjoy. Take time to explore the ship and find the spots away from the crowds for you to enjoy the sea breeze and beautiful ocean views.
