Review summary

Alaska is a great itinerary, but NCL does not allow enough time in the ports. Two hours in two ports IS NOT ENOUGH TIME FOR THE MONEY YOU PAY. As a whole you are on the ship way more than you can get off. I would love to see better itineraries for this trip.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and easy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Loved the specialty dining . Food was awesome and buffet had multitude of food choices

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I liked the jogging track because I could walk my miles every day and enjoy the view. I loved the quietness of the observation deck. Lounge chairs were so comfy and the best on this trip wss our balcony. The views were spectaular.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Choir of Men was all that I needed. Superior singing and acting.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Everyone was friendly and atenttive.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The jogging track was near the pool area and someone was constantly walking out and stopping in front of me or the deck chairs were in the way. It was also wet because of the people being in the pool. Lastly, the shopping was terrible as the gift shop was not in a room but on either side of the main isle. People were always bumping into me and you could no look at the items without being in the isle. VERY CROWDED. NOT A SMART MOVE ON THEIR PART.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I did not like the closet/bed layout. The bed was too close to the closet, and you had to move sideways to open the door. Very hard to hang or get clothes out of closet.

Ship tip

HUGH SHIP and elevators are SLOW. Use the stairs when you can. BE PATIENT.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

5 out of 5
Beautiful city with many things to see and do. Very walkable.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Beautiful town and walkable. Whale quest was awesome. We saw many humpbacks and three Orca's.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
We took the White Pass railroad up into Canada. Beautiful scenery and clean fresh air. Day long trip but well worth it.

Cruise Glacier Bay

5 out of 5
The ship turned 360 degrees for over an hour so you could see the glacier from all angles. My balcony was the best view all day long. Binoculars are a must.

KETCHIKAN (WARD COVE), ALASKA

3 out of 5
I DID NOT CARE FOR THE PORT. It is an NCL owned port. Too far from town and only about 2 hours to explore. Other ships pull right up to the town. Ketchican is a great city and I would have loved to have been there all day. WHY DID YOU DO THIS NCL?

Victoria, British Columbia

3 out of 5
I loved Victoria. Beautiful town from what I could see and very disappointed that I could not see the Buchart Gardens. AGAIN ONLY 2 HOURS IN PORT AND AT NIGHT. NCL ANOTHER BAD DECISION.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
NCL can not seem to get people off the ship quickly enough. They herd you through the length of the ship and you he to snake your way out.

Thanks for your review. You should have at least 6 hours in port or longer in Ketchikan.

I did this itinerary last month. You have far more than two hours in Ketchikan. NCL does dock a ways from the town, but you still get a decent amount of time there. As far as Victoria, it’s a mandatory foreign port to check the box. You actually have close to 3.5 hours there and that does give you a little time to explore. Most cruise lines do the same thing, we arrived at 8pm with two other ships, and all left at midnight.

Seems like you had a lot more than two hours in two ports.....

I think it's called cruising not porting. That's why theres much more time onboard than walking around a small crowded port
