Great cruise overall. Some excursions were hit or miss but the ports were all great. Food has gone downhill a bit but great time. Main stage entertainment was excellent.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Quick and organized. They forgot to give me a boarding number though.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The dining rooms were clean and service was outstanding. The food quality, in my opinion, has gone down.. even in speciality restaurants. But there was plenty of variety.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
My first ncl cruise left a bad impression due to the lack of fun events. This one was reminiscent of that cruise. However, there are lots of activities like the virtual gaming area and go karts that were fun.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The main stage shows were phenomenal. I only felt bad that they have clubs playing music in close proximity to the theater during the shows. The small scale performers were average.
Children's Programs
No children sailed with me
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone was giving top notch service with a smile.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Walking on board you could tell this ship was really well maintained and in immaculate condition. The design is nice because you only have two elevator banks and some of the bars were reimagined and relocated to be closer to the main walking areas. The downside to being close to everything is the noise and bass from the clubs. I could not go to my room before 11:45-midnight.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
The cabin was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Pretty spacious and great views. Small fridge and hair dryer in the room. Only complaint is the noise from the club below.
Great port. Wish they had excursions for it. Can easily walk to pikes place which has the original starbucks and the gum wall. Suggest going to Chinatown for dinner and the many breweries in Ballard (will need a taxi though)
Pretty good port. Pretty to see the planes landing on water. The ship makes you take a shuttle to the town which is not great. Takes a long time waiting in line. The shopping was just ok. Food was just ok. The food trucks and tents are probably the better options here. Took a bus to Mendenhall glacier for $45 round trip per person. Don’t think anyone really liked their paid excursions here.
At first was disappointed to go here because it replaced Skagway but this was an amazing time. Very rustic compared to the other ports. Just down to nature and the amazing views. Definitely go up the gondola.
Stunning views. Don’t believe everyone who says to go to the observation lounge. You can stay in your room if you have a balcony and then listen to ship channel 2 to follow along with the park ranger commentary. Deck 8 lets you go on the bow which is usually not for passengers and that was a better place to watch from. Observation lounge is bad because the windows reflect all the lamps so pics are bad and views are obscured.
Too short of a visit. They say you need an excursion to see the town but you don’t. Just another port with a long shuttle which sucks. Did the excursion to bike into rainforest and that was great. Walk down creek street.
Silly stop because it’s so late. Everything was closed and it was already dark out. Only a couple hours there anyway. Excursion was awful and didn’t do any of the things it was supposed to do.
