rooms were large and very clean. the balcony was extremely wonderful. The staff on the Dawn were very courteous and wonderful. The trip was just great. I recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I went first time on the cruise. I can not explain how much we love it.Everything was beautiful and there is not one thing I can complain about. Entertainment, food, crew members, ship ,I mean evetything was beautiful. We even met people from our Country that work on the ship.

This was the perfect family trip. Something to do for everyone. By day it was pool, music, food and drinks. And by night it was shows, casino, movies, food and drinks. The kids loved the camp as they were entertained with all their favorite things to do...sports, Wii and movies. And when they didn't go to camp, it was more fun in the pool, playing deck games like basketball, shuffleboard, hitting golf balls in the cages and a little chess with the oversized pieces. We had a ton of fun on the ship. I recommend the Norwegian Dawn for any family looking to entertain the WHOLE family.

Overall, we had a great time. The ship is beautiful and has plenty of things to do. This was our 2nd cruise, the first being a 3-day on a much smaller ship. The two experiences were so different I can't really compain them. I highly recomment the specialty restaurants (the one's with a cover charge). We ate at 3 of the 5 and it was worth the price. The food and service were all taken up several notches. The other restaurants were good but seemed slightly understaffed. For example, a couple we were with wanted a bottled water and a coke during breakfast and the waitress said "It would take too long because she would have to go somewhere else to get it". How can she not "have time" How can there n ot be someone that could get it for her?? The large buffet restaurant also had trouble keeping up with clean tables and silverware. But the food was great every time. When I said my "con" is that the ship does not enforce their own rules, this is what I meant. They have a rule about leaving you sun chairs vacant for 30 minutes. Believe me, if you don't have a chair by 9:30 on sailing days, you will not get one unless you go to the back of the ship. They say there are "adult only" hot-tubs, late night activity and sporting events. But all three were filled with mostly kids in their early teens. They say they have a dress-code in the restaraunts ( a very simple one at that...pants and a shirt) yet a few people still go in there wearing shots and tanktops. My only point is if you have a rule, just enforce them. The shows were pretty good and the casino was a fun time. Getting on and off the ship was as simple as they could make it. If only the airline and hotel industry could learn a few things from the cruise industry. We were in a mini-suite. This basically means you are in a balcony room with a larger room, bathroom and balcony. You do not get any other "special treatment". But the room was great...as was eating breakfast on the balcony.

Clean Ship. The shows were great!!! The cabin stewards were wonderful - they did a great job on our room. On more than 1 occasion we saw crewmembers being rude to passengers. We thought there would be more to do on the ship. I think they gave up to much space for all the restaurants. If you ate at one of the restaurants the food was good, but you paid a cover charge. The food at the buffet was awful except for breakfast. Read the small print for what is included in the ticket price its not much! The Cruise Director and his staff were great did some really entertaining game shows.

Web site shore excursions would have a low price and then suddenly tack on 50 percent to the cost. Freestyle cruising means if you want anything other than cafetera food pay extra. It seems that they charge for most things advertised as a ship's amenitiy. If there is extra for these features i.e. the lap pool, then they should be shown as such. Not nearly as good as the same Royal Carribean cruise we took two years ago for the same price.

The ship it self was beatiful, but didn't like free style dining. I have been on 5 cruises and always made new friends during meals, but because of free style the two of us sat alone. Also, we tried room service twice and were told it would take an hour and a half each time. Also the worse part of this ship was there were (I think) 8 dining rooms and you had to pay extra for at least 5 of them, so to us free style means, as long as you pay more and wait until the ships time schedule you can do whatever you want. Also, in our room we found a receipt from a former cruiser and worse of all underwear was left in our room.

The ship itself was great and customer service was the best thing about the ship. The price itself was well worth the cons of the ship. Alot of things to keep you busy on and off the ship.

We had a great ship. Had taken the Majesty previously to Bermuda and were not impressed at all. We decided to take Norwegian again because no other cruise line was going to Bermuda. We were pleasantly surprised with our experience on the Dawn!

The ship was great the employees made me feel like you were family. They always smiled and when you walked by them always said hello. That makes you feel they want to be there. If you don't have a good time it is your own fault! There are things to do and you are taken care of like you are a millionare thats how I felt.

It is an ok cruise. I wish the kids pool area was bigger. Not enough things going on during the day. No POOL games! Not enough music at the pool.

This was a great freestyle cruise but i am not expert since this was my first cruise and i loved it. Food was good, entertainment was great and the curtious staff was ready to help and satisfy your every need. This ship is not brand new (2003?) therefore i can't say it was state of the art but the crew kept it very clean.

My wife and I sailed on the Norwegian Dawn out of New York harbor. The departure from our pier on the west side of New York City was very easy. The cruise to Bermuda was very pleasant aboard this Norwegian Cruise line ship. The crew was very friendly. There is nothing like sailing out of New York passing the city skyline and the Statue of Liberty. The Dawn offers freestyle cruising-which allows you to eat when and where you want. Overall, the food was very good and plentiful. We ate in one of the speciality restaurants-Cagneys. It was good. However, we preferred eating in the Garden Cafe-which is buffet style. The choices were great-you ate as little or as much as you wanted. Our cabin stewards were great. The entertainment was good. We especially like Jose and Patti in the Dazzles Lounge. We saw them every night. Bermuda is a pretty place. We were fortunate to have good weather and calm seas. Overall, my wife and I were very happy with the cruise line. It was great not having to fly to our ship. We are from Long Island and we actually drove into New York to get to the pier. We parked at a garage about three blocks from the pier. Not having to pay outrageous airfares or baggage fees and wait out airport delays was terrific. We would certainly cruise with Norwegian again.

Good cruise trip except some little disappointment in restaurant mostly

If you go on this cruise and hear, "come to our free siminar on ..." DON"T GO. You will be subject to a sales pitch. Once you get past that and the fact that all the good restaurants have a 10-25 dollar per person cover charge, you can get to the finer points of NLC and this cruise. Nice ship, good service, good food, and Bermuda was excellent. Highly recommend doing a stateroom with a balcony.

The ship was spetacular, very clean and well maintained. It was like a brand new ship, even that it was a few years old. The crew was very politeand ready to assist you anytime. The main theater was beautiful as well all shows. The movie theater in my opinion needs a better projector, the image was not crispy, and the movies selection should be updated.

I was very disappointed with the Freestyle Cruising experience. Reservations were hard to make, the food quality was very poor, and you had to pay $20 - $30 cover charge for the specialty restaurants. The food was not worth the extra charge at all. The only decent meal I had was in Cagney's, surf and turf for $30. They now also charge a daily fee to use the indoor pool, sauna, etc or $20 a day or $70 per person for the week. I shouldn't have to pay extra for those amenities. The ship itself was very clean and I was very happy with my stateroom. My room steward was friendly and cleaned my room in a very timely manner each day. I will stick with Royal Caribbean from now on.

Overall,. the ship was nice. Nothing about it "wowed" me or my companions.

Overall, the ship makes a nice first impression. The decor is tasteful and elegant. The layout is as you would find on other large cruiseships. Dining rooms offer beautiful ocean views in many cases.

A pleasant enough experience, although nothing really stood out in terms of ambience or atmosphere. Soliciting and point-of sales permeated all social and entertainment functions.
