Love all the ports with only 1 sea day. Loved Hotwire band and found food was average but service helped make dinner a highlight every night.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
Long lines and no options for Platinum line.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
La Cucina was good. Cagneys was horrible - they grilled the steak very poorly. The main dining room service was very good, but I found the food continued the general decline in NCL's quality over recent years. Much of it is approaching cafeteria quality.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Ship had the stuff I cared about.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
NCL bands/music was very good. Hotwire was the highlight. Stage shows were adequate. Elements was great as it usually is.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Dining room staff was great. Our room steward was new and told us so repeatedly. She is enthusiastic and will learn to do better than she did this time.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
No complaints about cleanliness, although I did get sick on board for the first time on any cruise I've ever taken. I hope you find the vandals that ruined all the art in the main dining room and can find replacement art for them soon.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Interior rooms are small even by ship standards - other cruise lines equivalent rooms are more spacious feeling. Location on deck 4 ended up being better than I expected with ease of getting on/off a plus and no long lines queued up outside our door as I feared.
Ship tip
The terraces by the pool are a great place to sit and enjoy the view - love them. Dawn is a nice sized ship - big enough but not too big like newer ships are.
Love Curacao. I wish we had a full day there. Enjoyed snorkel of Tugboat since we were allowed to go around the end beyond where there was some nice coral.
Nice to be the only ship in port this trip. Been there a few times too many and have done what there is to do. St. John is a great visit but makes for a fast trip. Megan's Bay is always a nice beach day and easy to get to with continuous taxis.
