10 day Southern Caribbean from PR is a great cruise. Dawn is a very casual atmosphere, lots of shorts, tshirts and sandals all day. Didn't see a lot of dressy dinner attire. Men in polo shirts, jeans, some in shorts for dinner. Ladies in sun dresses or shorts/capri. Variety of ship activities during day, but missed them because of excursions. Kudos to Med staff, broke my toe, stubbed on leg of deck chair, be careful

Food and Dining

Los lobos was ok, empanadas were delish. Cagney's Steakhouse was good, but realized we could get a good steak at Aqua and it was complimentary restaurant. Actually, Aqua was my favorite restaurant. Moderna Churr Brazilian was a meat feast, good but the sides were pitifully small. One of the pasodors was rude when we politely said no to his offering. He said your card is green, I'm not colorblind. Buffet is above par. Great selection of ethnic salads and main dishes. Cons- drink pkg not honored at all restaurants.
Onboard Activities

Pools crowded and cold. Appreciate the walk in steps on Dawn. Lots of activities, but scheduled in morning when people are on excursions.
Entertainment

Talented Jose and Patti entertained in Atrium. Loved the aerialist act, ventriloquist was corny. Bliss lounge should upgrade audio, does not flatter the artist. We left because of the audio was shrill.

Service and Staff

Steward Gede Putra was the best cabin steward. Greeted us by name, polite and friendly. Room immaculate, requests were taken care of promptly, showed great concern when I was ill.
Ship Quality

Dawn is an older, smaller class ship Reno(2016) Pro-ship clean and well maintained, staff friendly, layout was conducive to flow. Cons- not all elevators were working one day. Our suite was under Garden buffet and the chair scraping noise was annoying. It was difficult to hear conversations when sitting on the balcony or awakened when breakfast was served at 6am. Why not invest $50 in the felt chair leg pads for all buffet chairs?
Cabin / Stateroom

Mini suite has tub/shower that was difficult to step up into shower. Room/bed was comfortable. Balcony would easily seat 4 and roomier than the newer ships, ie: Getaway. The trundle pull out couchbed was very firm and 8 inches off floor when made up.
Ship tip
Four hanger hooks at door entry for your stuff. Double outlet in room by entry dresser. Need 10/12 ft ext cord for cpap. Single outlet in bathroom. The cruise approved usb/3outlet plug in will not work. There is not room to plug in because of desk design. It has small brass rail to stop items from rolling off. Retractable clothesline in bath.
Fort San Cristobal was amazing, National Parks not open on holidays(Pres Day) I forgot my Senior Pass and had to pay $7. El yenque has not been restored from hurricane, can't drive thru.
Sight sea excursion Sunday and the stops weren't open. Aloe factory had one stall restroom and 4 tour buses arrived. Spent 30 min in line. Not a pleasant excursion. Note: Aruba Aloe sold at port shop, don't wait in long line at factory. Beautiful beaches.
