Make sure to check where your room is located when your travel agent says you been upgraded. Room 5150 was a nightmare. I am sure that others have had similar experiences.

Cabin / Stateroom

This cabin is directly below the restaurant, Aqua's kitchen. Every night there were noises until midnight as they cleaned up. Understandable and did not complain. Then at 2:00 a.m. the banging of pots, pans & a cart rolling on the floor would start until 4:30 a.m. I called and complained about 6 mornings to the front desk. They would call & the noise would lessen. This means we would get about 4 hours of sleep a night. On or about the 7th night, I called the desk, and was told that there was nothing else that could be done, & no other cabins were available. I asked to speak to her supervisor. No spvr. was on duty and she was not going to wake him up. I visited with desk spvr. in the morning & got my 1st apology for the noise. He assured me that the noise would stop. It didn't & I quit complaining because it was doing any good. I told him that I understood that the ship had people working all the time, but I did not understand why they would at 2:00 to 4:30 a.m. when the restaurant was only opened for dinner. Unloading pots and silverware should be done after 8:00 a.m. in this case when it would not interrupt the customer's sleep. On the last day of the cruise, a NCL rep. called our cabin saying they were going to address the problem and offered us a Future Cruise credit. I learned later that it would have to be used in 12 months. But, I would rather have the sleep!
Ship tip
When your cruise consultant says that you have been upgraded to a better room, check the location for yourself. Room 5150 was a nightmare.
We took a bus ride to see the pitons and waterfall. It was a long ride over bumpy roads that ended about 3 miles from the pitons. The waterfall and pool was small. It cost extra. We were interested in hiking the volcano, but no one on the bus wanted to pay the $9 entry fee for a 15 minute stop.
Ported at old San Juan. Since we had transfers to the airport, we had to leave the ship at 8:30 even through our plane left at 3:50. Not much to do at the airport.
