For my first cruise I would have to say I was mostly dissapointed. Average food, very crowded ship, particularly trying to eat and find your way to the bar, buffet, etc., especially on days we did not port (3 days) Staff was very kind and helpful. Bibggest complaint is that we were entitled to credits due to missed ports and excursions. The credits were minimal, less than $100, but to get them we had to wait in line for almost 2 hours to get the cash. I cannot beleive that we cold not be credited automatically, and we believe it was so we would give up waiting and not apply for the credit. Then we also found out that you very specifically had to ask the right questions to receive your credit. This is unacceptanle treatment and becuase of this we will never use Norweigian again as we feel when you do not go to 3 of your intended port on a 10 day cruise you have missed quite a bit of the reason you paid for it with very little compensation.
Embarkation

Pretty smooth but incredibly warm in the building where we check in
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Except for the specialty higher end restaurants, the food was average but nothing special. Particularly we did not truly enjoy the buffett experience.
Onboard Activities

The weather and wind prevented any quality time in the pool. The hot tubs were always too crowded to use. The climbing wall, zip line, etc were usually closed because of the wind
Entertainment

The best was at Syd Norman's Pourhouse, that was exceptional. Our other experiences, i.e. Howl at the Moon, various artists at the pool, and atrium were average.
Service and Staff

I would give 5 stars to everone we interacted with, our isse is how things were handled by customer service in regards to missed ports and credits due.
The reason we did not disembark here was because the Captain, after sailing all the way from Rome for our first port in Athens, decided that morning to not enter the port because of the conditions. We were extremely dissapointed!
According to the Captain, we could not port in the new port due to weather. So we missed our excursion to Oiu, which we were truly excited about. In addtion there were exceptionally long lines for the lift from the old port to the nearest town.
Again, we steamed all the way there from Naples then the Captain indicated again that weather did not allow us to port. Again we were told this as we prepared to leave the ship. Pretty upset.
Don't sweat the small stuff, you were reimbursed, you were on a cruise, you didn't have to work. We we're on the Carnival Conquest, and the same thing happened just made the best of it.
We did that similar NCL cruise a few years ago and loved it. We missed a few ports too due to weather. Unfortunately, the weather in the Mediterranean in November may not be great!
In spite of the missed ports, it is still one of our favorite cruises.
Sorry you were disappointed.
You might want to read your cruise contract. Im pretty sure it says The cruise line does not have to refund or give you anything for port/ship changes. Only if you prepaid for something at the port.
