Over all we had a good time. Lots of relaxing. We spent a lot of time in our cabin and on our own balcony which was nice. There were several things that were not communicated well including having to sign up for seats that were complimentary and dress codes at sit down restaurants. My boys and husband were told several times to either go put shirts with sleeves on or takeoff ball caps or go put on pants then women were allowed to wear shorts and hats in those same places. They were not happy about it. Dress codes should be posted clearly for those places. Norwegian use dtp be our favorite cruise line but the got knocked down quite a bit on this trip.
Embarkation

We were there early to beat the crowds and it worked great. Boarding and check in was very smooth.

Food and Dining

Buffet was super crowded. The sit down restaurants were hit and miss. Seemed to decline through the week. Drinks were very overpriced. $18 for a cocktail is crazy.
Onboard Activities

Ropes course was cool. We never saw the rock wall open. Pool area is small and overcrowded.
Entertainment

Rock of ages was AWESOME!! Best show of the trip BUT you had to go sign up to get a seat for this “free” show and many of the shows were like that. I ended up in the sign up line by acxident for something else and was glad I was able to get seats but that is not advertise well. They do not have many just open seating evening shows. You have to go get reserved seats for them on the nights you want. The Escape room activity was fun, again had to sign up for this after waiting in a line. The Velvet show was not worth the extra fee in our opinion. It was $30 per person extra and the food was not our favorite and the show was just boring to us. The seventies songs chosen for the soundtrack were not super popular ones and it was just overall uneventful for us. Saved this for our last night and we were very disappointed we did. We have been on other cruises where thee sis a show every night you can just go to the theater and watch and this cruise was not like that and it was disappointing to us.
Service and Staff

The wait staff in restaurants were attentive but our room steward was just ok. We have been on cruises where the steward really tried to make personal connections to you, we maybe saw him twice on a seven day cruise. No towel animals. Minimal room care.
Ship Quality

Ship was clean and well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was larger than we expected and had tons of storage. We had four adults staying in the room. One couple and our two young adult sons and the beds were ample size. The balcony was a good size with chairs and a great view. It was a little loud at night being on floor fifteen which is the pool and buffet deck but overall a good room. Bathroom was much larger than other cruises I’ve been on.
Ship tip
Sign up for seats at shows when you board the ship to make sure get to see what you want. Che k newsletter for alternate breakfast locations. We realized buffet breakfast at Margaritaville was included and never had a crowd there the days we ate there.
This was our favorite. Nice people. We did the BioBay kayak trip with Kayaking Puerto Rico tour company and would highly recommend them. They had great customer service.
Coral world and Coki beach excursion booked through ship mate. Good price and neat place. We recommend going to beach first then coral world to avoid the beach crowd. Admission to coral world is in and out and they have better bathroom than the beach. Only negative was we’re locked in to a late afternoon return time with the excursion, we got there at 9am and they would not take us back to shop until 3pm. By 1pm we were hot and tired and ready to go back they said we would have to pay for a taxi if we didn’t want to wait for our transport time they would not take us earlier. We were not happy about that.
All reservations can be made online 90 days in advance, you said you cruised NCL before, dinner and show reservations have been a thing for a long time.
I dont wear sleeveless shirts, but have never been turned away from the free restaurants for wearing shorts. I also dont wear hats indoors as for men thats disrespectful. Yes i know 90% of men any more wear baseball hats indoors, doesnt change the fact.
