Review summary

The Breakaway is a very large and very stable ship.  The food in the main complimentary dinning rooms was very good.  And the cabin and overall service aboard the ship was very good. Excellent staff and overall professionalism.

The bad - Well for me the worst thing was the cigarette smoke.  There was only one adult outdoor pool area (which would become very crowded at times) and the system was that smokers owned one side of it and claimed one of the two bars.  And non-smokers had the other side.  In reality cigarette smoke does not care about side of an open area and would swirl around in the wind to make it impossible to get away from.  So be OK with constant poisoning if you want to use the pool area.  Also the ship itself had various smoking areas both inside and outside that created an overall smokey atmosphere in many parts of the ship.  The casino in the central atrium is a smoking area with obvious consequences.  If you are a smoker then this is the ship for you.

The other bad - This is a huge ship, however the entire front of the ship is taken up with the "Haven" (First class area off limits to everyone else) and the SPA (very expensive and off limits unless you pay).  So the effect is that you are on a huge ship with thousands of people but limited to a much smaller area than on other ships I have been on.

I had a good time, but would look for a different ship in the future as I am a non-smoker and like a little more space.

Very low water pressure in the shower but that is not unusual for a cruise ship. The cabin was clean and comfortable.

Does anyone have an idea what the prices are for the spa. Was thinking about a couple massage.

you are not limited to "a much smaller area" that is just so exaggerated, the Haven private areas are on decks 16/17 and only a part of those

From what I understand 95% of the boat is non smoking and 5% is smoking so that leaves a boatload of room for non smokers. I understand the majority of people don't smoke and don't want to be around the smoke and I respect that but on another note some people smoke and it's a very bad habit that's hard to stop but I respect that as well.

Haven only takes up a few floors. And there is plenty of space... Not really sure how you figure the "entire front of the ship" is Haven or spa.
