you would be better off to take a smaller Holland or Princess ship to see alaska. they usually dock right in town so you dont have to wait to be shuttled into the towns and we went in september to avoid children on ship but september weather is hit or miss.
Embarkation

very efficient
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
main dining rooms were very slow and food about same quality as the buffet. Cagneys and lacuccina significantly better. the local was hit or miss.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
alaska cruise so outside pool deck not utilized creating long lines inside since ship was packed to capacity. staff cutbacks/shortage very noticable
Entertainment
3 out of 5
have seen jersey boys on previous sailings but very enjoyable. didnt make it to icon show but people said they liked it
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
ncl needs to rethink its strategy of raising prices AND cutting staff..way too overcrowded for staffing levels to handle---didnt see my room steward until evening of day 2---he said he was responsible for 24 cabins
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
we had sailed on bliss when it was new so we already knew our way around. i will say its a shame that a ship designed for alaska doesnt have a covered pool area instead of go karts and lazer tag...it forces the masses of people to the interior of the ship causing chaos during inclement weather
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
a little small but adequate--generally clean but never knew what time room attendant would show up which complicated making plans--we had same type of balcony cabin on our previous bliss cruise
Ship tip
if you dont have the pacience of a saint you will get frustrated with the overcrowding
